Tea Leaf Reading

Tea leaf reading is an ancient and magical art that taps into the deep, rich world of the psyche giving insight, guidance and creative prompts. Tea leaf reading has its roots in Asia and the Middle East and has been practiced by everyone from Royalty to housewives, and was considered a pass-time by the victorian ladies at high noon tea. Not only is it a rewarding and extremely insightful process, it’s beautiful and entertaining.

Anyone who’s enjoyed a nice cup of tea can attest to how relaxing and peaceful it is. Imagine taking that process to another level. As you enjoy your cup of loose leaf tea, you infuse it with your essence, creating a catalyst that allows the tea to “paint” pictures and images in the bottom of your cup. From there I will string together symbols to give you insight into key points in your life (past, present, future).

Tea leaf reading is one of my favorite forms of divination because of the ambience and atmosphere it creates. All readings  come from the same intuitive place, so a tea leaf reading and a Tarot reading will yield similar results, but tea leaf readings tend to captivate people because it is a very creative, lyrical and moving experience. If you’ve never had the opportunity to have a tea leaf reading you should treat yourself to the experience!

Personal tea leaf reading sessions are available (same as other consultations), as well as tea leaf reading parties. Tea leaf reading parties are extremely fun and interesting and adds another layer to any afternoon brunch! If you are interested you can even host a class I like to call The Gypsy Tea Party… where I come and teach everyone the basics of tea leaf reading!

LA, LA Land

Sticky, hot, wet feelings of fame and illusion hang heavy in the air. There is something deceptively titillating about this place. Everything shines even through the smog and grim cover it with a protective film. Maybe there is a need for things to be hidden under layers of dust. This is what protects the original dream of shinning lights and real life fantasies.

I remember looking down and seeing the city of LA burning like a bed of embers in a black void. The lights of houses, the lights of dreams, the lights of misery, the lights of mystery… they were sparks in my dead of night, sending chills through my body and soul, they made my heart stop a little.

Coming here has been a pilgrimage. Maybe even a coming of age. I always find myself in new places. I am a nomad. There is always a new experience to be had; a new place to explore. I am uncovering facets of who I am. I am finding pieces of my destiny. This place is part of my destiny.

Being here has ignited a candle that has waited patiently to burn within me. I am taking the hand of destiny and allowing myself to float away. Things will come to me. Things come to those who are willing to be brave. I am praying to be brave enough to see what’s next. I am praying to be strong enough to do what I am called to do.

The time is almost up and I will return home, I know this place will be another home in my heart….though I know gypsies never really have homes, only places that make them feel safe and alive for awhile. I’m in no rush to be anywhere. But I am anxious to get back to the things that really feed my inner being.

It’s clear to me now how much we know about our destiny if we only stand still for a few moments, silence our fears and listen to the voice within. I have known things my whole life, maybe not in their entirety, but at least as a little seed, a feeling. Now that I trust these morsel of truth, doors are opening.

I came here to be a story-teller. I’m not always sure how I will tell the story, or whose story it will be… but I trust in the wind and where it takes me. So I am standing here on the edge of something greater than we can ever know, I am spreading my arms and letting myself fall into unseen wings.

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: The Psychic Vacuum

Here’s a nice piece for sale!

If you’ve been keeping up with The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection, then here is a new tip that is easy and affective. I call this “The Psychic Vacuum”. It’s a great way to continually cleanse a space of negative energy, without much effort on your part.

All you will need for this method is amethyst crystals. You will need at least one amethyst crystal per room or space you are working in. It doesn’t matter how big or small the stone is, or if it’s raw or tumbled. If there is an area that tends to feel especially “off” or tense then you may wish to add more than one amethyst crystal.

Step one: You will need to run the amethyst crystals under cold water for a few seconds. This washes away built up energy within the crystal. And if you want you can run white light into the crystal as explained in the introduction.

Step two: Hold the crystals in your hands to activate them. All you need to do is cup your hands around the crystals and with eyes closed, envision them acting like a vacuum or filter, sucking all negative energy out of the atmosphere and allowing only positive, light energy to remain!

Step three: Place a crystal in a secure place within each room you are cleansing. You could put them in corners, inside vases, in the fruit bowl on the counter, on shelves or even out in the open.

Once placed, the crystals filter the energies that hang in the atmosphere of the room, allowing only positive energy to remain. This is very affective and can be combined with other forms of cleansing.

Step four: Empty the vacuum! Every few weeks gather the crystals and repeat the first three steps again. It’s important to clear away any energy that they’ve “vacuumed” up! You may want to do this more frequently if the energy is feeling especially chaotic or after a dramatic event in the space.

For a personal cleansing you can follow the first two steps (cleansing and activating the crystal). Then with the amethyst held in-hand, rub it along your body as if you were washing off with a bar of soap. This will allow the crystal to absorb any negative or stagnant energy lingering within your aura.

Do this as often as you like! After you’ve “vacuumed off”, run the crystal under cold water and store it in a safe place until your next session.

Have fun and check back for more tips and ticks!

The Will to Change

I stepped into the darkened parlor, only a candle illuminated the room from the piano in the corner. A sound like a clock ticking trailed off in the distance.  Each tic coincided with the beat of my heart. I moved deeper into the shadows trying to unfold the mystery that lingered, invisible in the air.

I touched the cool wood of the table and felt the soft velvet that covered the sofa. My senses were tingling with anticipation. I felt faint, almost out of breath, I felt as if I had been battered by the tenacious waves of the ocean. Something was coming over me.

I was met by a vision; something loomed heavy in the corner. I knew that there was a messenger here. He had come for me to impart his wisdom. “Show yourself!” I protested. But nothing came from the darkness.

Catching my breath, I sat on the sofa. I pulled the warm air into my lungs and let the scent of musk and roses fill me. There was something different here. Something I had never felt before. Or maybe I was never open to its mystery.

Suddenly it came to me. The figure appeared like a bead of light moving through a dark sky. It was the spirit of change. Some may call it death, others may call it life, but I simply call it change.

The figure held out its hand. I could only make out the slight structure… tall, thin, and able. I felt with every fiber of my being that it was time. Time to let go of the worn-out and the old. Time to move into the future, fearless and alive. I knew it wasn’t the end, but actually the beginning.

Loud and clear I heard from within the body of light, “Dance! The secret of life is to dance!”… and then the light receded back into shadows like the dying embers of a fire. Darkness absorbed all traces of light until only I was left, with this vision and this message to carry on in my head.

I closed my eyes. Startled. Moved. Changed. I knew that everything would be okay.
