For most of us we see our pets as our friends, and family. For me I consider my beautiful black cat as my best friend, or as I like to call him… my familiar. He is my other half, the wild, spirited side of me! I learn so much from him, and I constantly feel under the invisible protection of his vibrant spirit.
One thing I have learned over the years working with psychic energy, and various cleansing techniques is that our pets not only love us, they also work to heal and protect us. Meaning that at times they take on a lot of unnecessary energy. Not to mention they encounter their own share of emotional ups and downs, and physical ailments.
In which case it is reasonable to consider performing a cleansing, and healing ceremony on your pet friend. There are many techniques you can use for healing and cleansing your pet. But you want to consider two things: Pets are physically sensitive to smells, oils/herbs, and touch. And they may not fully understand what you are doing.
I want to mention that cats are not able to process essential oils, and they can have severe negative effects on their physical health!
I find using a technique that is engaging for my pet works far better. My favorite form of pet cleansing and healing is an egg cleansing. This is a simple, yet very powerful technique! Personally I have had so much success with this technique, and it stands as one of the most curious techniques amongst those interested in the art of spiritual cleansing.
Begin by washing a fresh, white, free-range/organic egg under running water. I like to rinse my egg in a mixture of water, lemon juice, and sea salt. Dry the egg, and place it in a small bowl.
Find your pet; bring him or her a little treat or bowl of food. Talk to your pet sweetly, explain what you are doing, and see how receptive he or she is. You may find your pet is instantly ready for the cleansing session. If your pet isn’t being cooperative give him or her some time. Sit with your pet for a bit, stroking its back, and showing it some affection.
When your pet has decided to participate, begin rubbing the egg from his or her head, down the back, and legs. Do this until you’ve covered the whole body. Do this in a similar fashion to how you would affectionately stroke your pet. He or she should be really excited about this part.
As you are rubbing the egg across your pet’s body, focus on the eggs natural ability to absorb negative energy. See any dark energies being sucked from your pets body, and into the magnetic interior of the egg. Feel out any areas that need special attention. Trust your intuition.
When you have finished crack the egg open into a cup of water. Look at the yoke to see if any interesting shapes or images from in the remains. This can give you clues to the energy surrounding your pet, and any distinct things pulled from its aura.
Dispose of the yoke, and water in the toilet. Flush the contents and visualizing the negative energy leaving for good. At this point I like to pour a cup of vinegar or lemon juice into the toilet and flush again. This ensures that the energy has been washed away, and dissolved.
Rather than breaking the contents of the egg, you can throw it into a running stream, or toss it into a naturalized area off of your property.
Another alternative to this cleansing technique is to wrap the egg in a cloth, or paper bag, tucking it under your pet’s bed. While he or she sleeps the egg will absorb the negative energy in the same way as the above technique. Follow the same method of disposal.
You can repeat this as much as you like. Be sure to always respect your pet’s boundaries! If you pet does not wish to have you perform this ceremony, then do not do it!

Pyrite is one of my favorite stones to work with. You are probably familiar with Pyrite, commonly called, “Fools Gold”. It is a highly reflective, metallic stone that forms in cube shapes, or round disks. When held in one light it shines a soft gold, and turned another it has a lighter, almost silver hue.
Pyrite actually means, “fire” connecting this stone with fire energy. Pyrite grows as cubic crystals made of iron sulfide, which connects it to earth energy. If struck together Pyrite will actually create sparks.
Energetically Pyrite ground, centers, focuses and establishes boundaries and authority. In times when you need to be more focused, extroverted and assertive, Pyrite is a powerful ally. Working with the energy of Pyrite will help to re-establish your natural connection to the earth, pulling it into your core, creating a type of personal “fire” that can be directed to clear away unwanted forces, or ignite new ideas.
Ideally, Pyrite is used for psychic and spiritual protection. Naturally it pulls in stray, excess energy, and mingles this with strong earth energy. This energy creates a force field around the wearer that fortifies the personal aura, but adding an extra layer of armor. This force field establishes personal space, and boundaries, and keeps unwanted influence at bay.
The reflective quality of Pyrite hints at its ability to deflect negative energy and influence. I have found that Pyrite will deflect, and return negative, and harmful thoughts to the sender. This is especially helpful for people who suffer from depression, anxiety, and mental anguish.
Empathics, spiritual workers, and public figures benefit greatly from Pyrite as it helps to define personal space, and boost self-confidence so that you can overcome, face, and eloquently work through any situation. Visualize Pyrite as a grounding rod for high impact energies that are inundating the wearer.
Keeping Pyrite in the workspace is especially auspicious because it transmutes energy. On a deeper level Pyrite ignites an alchemical process that marries Earth and Sun. When kept in a workspace you will begin to feel a subtle strength that permeates the air, adding to the flow of creative ideas, confidence, and the ability to follow through to the end.
Pyrites transformative quality is the core of its power as a protective stone. Unlike stones that just ward off negative energy, Pyrite actually pulls the unwanted energy into it’s core, thus establishing a protective boundary that will deflect any remaining energy that works to overwhelm it’s perimeter. I like to this of Pyrite as a proactive stone. It doesn’t passively weather the storm, it works to shift and change the energies at play for a more conducive atmosphere.
Tapping into the protective nature of this stone is simple. Find a beautiful piece of Pyrite that speaks to you. Hold it in your hand; establish a connection with the stone by feeling it. Let it speak to you. Befriend it.
What does it feel like when you hold it?
What parts of your body does it activate?
What emotions, sensations, and impression do you have?
Graciously ask for your Pyrite crystal to create a protective barrier around you. You can be general, or very specific about what you wish to be shielded from. I like to affirm my intention by speaking out loud to the crystal. Holding it in my hand, turning it around gently on all sides. Breathing into its life force, and inhaling it into my own.
Once you have established this connection carry your crystal with you. Keep it in your pocket, purse, or on a piece of jewelry. I carry a bag that I keep my current crystal friends in. When I am working in a stationary setting I will take them all out, one by one, saying hello, reaffirming my intention and asking for their help again, and then I arrange them around me!
Sleeping with Pyrite on your bedside table, or under your pillow is especially powerful. This is beneficial for people who feel they are under psychic attach, extreme pressure, or if you are experiencing nightmares.
Cleanse and recharge Pyrite crystals by placing them in a bowl of rock salt. Set them in a sunny window to recharge, and pull out their luster. Never put them in water. Pyrite is especially friendly with Black Tourmaline, and Hematite.

Spiritual cleansing, or “Limpia” with an egg is an old, and powerful form of spiritual cleansing. It is very popular in Latin folk-magic, but has its roots in many cultures. You can read more about self-cleansing with an egg, here!
Lets take this wonderful technique a step further and spiritually cleanse the home. Spiritually cleansing of the home is very important because your home is a reflection of your inner world, and as it becomes tainted by negative and lower level vibrations you become heavier and more lost in the fog. Take ownership of your space and make it sacred, as it should be!
To begin gather one large fresh egg. This egg should be free-range, and organic. It should be room temperature before you begin. Also gather a glass of fresh spring water, a sage smudge or sweet incense, and a white or pink candle.
Wash the egg in a mixture of salt water, and lemon juice. This ensures that the egg is not holding onto stray energies before the session.
Put yourself in a relaxed state. Make sure no one is in the home that will disturb you.
Hold the egg in your hand. Saying a prayer or affirmation of cleansing and peace. Begin at the entrance of the home, and waft the egg around each corner of the room, around the entrances, doorways and windows. Around any clutter, heavy furniture, and places that feel stagnant.
Move through the entire house, one room to the next. Continue to focus on your intention of cleansing the home. Ask for blessing and guidance from the Universe. And trust your intuition about where to go.
Make sure to focus on openings of any kind. Places that is cluttered, stagnant or dark, such as closets or cabinets. And any rooms that have a particularly heavy feeling, or some kind of history that you want to work through.
The egg is essentially a psychic vacuum that is picking up, and holding any unwanted energy present in the space.
When you are finished you can break the egg into the cup of water. Allowing the contents of the egg to settle. At this time it is good to go through each room with the sage smudge, or incense stick. Letting it waft into all the same places as the egg.
This will add an extra layer of cleansing. And will ensure the space is blessed with positive vibration.
Once I have done this I like to light a white or pink candle in the hearth, or center of the home, or in each room. This candle represents the light of the Universe, and blessings of love filling the space of the negativity that has been released. Allow the candle to safely burn down.
Another element I like to add to the process is placing a bouquet of fresh white flowers in each room.
Once the cleansing session is finished you can observer the yoke of the egg for signs of the energy that was removed from the space. Think of this like looking at clouds in the sky. What shapes have formed? How do they make you feel? What do they seem to represent.
To dispose of the egg after interpreting the yoke, dumb the contents into the toilet and flush. Or place into a running stream off of your property. If you haven’t broken the egg place in a paper bag in the trash off of your property.
Do this process as often as you like. I suggest doing a home cleansing at least once a month, or ideally once a week. And whenever there is any kind of altercation, misfortune, or illness in the space.
Please, let me know if you have any other questions.
If you would like me to interpret the patterns formed by your egg. Please follow the steps, break the yoke into a cup of water and take several pictures. Make sure to photograph the results in good light, from a few different angles. You can email me the photos. Purchase your egg interpretation here.

There is something so exciting and beautiful about seeing someone’s aura blooming, growing and pulsating in front of you. It’s a lightshow of rainbow colors that reflect the person’s inner world, their mood, emotions, and the things they are pulling and pushing in and out of their lives.
The aura is the unique energetic story each and every person is telling.
The aura is composed of many layers of energy, constantly moving and cycling, much like a wheel. Some energies cycle out quickly, and others linger for an extended amount of time. When energy starts to take on a cyclical pattern then it represents something that is being held onto, a lesson to be learned, or a particular energy that you are in need of.
The aura reflects our every thought, feeling, and experience. It will change accordingly. The most telling thing about the aura is the texture and color that are emanating from it. When you are aware of this you can learn a lot about a person, or situation.
Often times the aura knows the truth about a person or situation before you consciously do.
The chakra system (the 7 main energy centers of the body) is made up of the seven colors of the rainbow. Each chakra dictates a different experience, and the energy of that chakra loops together and creates the aura. If you are experiencing a block in a specific chakra, that will appear in the aura.
Not only does the aura reflect the chakras system, it also reflects all the things you encounter throughout your day, and your life as a whole. The aura is your energetic story, and with that story is your energetic history.
You may find yourself naturally experiencing other people’s auras. It can be very subtle such as a tingly feeling when you are very close to a person, or maybe you’ve experienced the sudden sensation of coming up against a wall when interacting with a person… this is their aura shielding you out.
It’s also very common to see a person’s aura when they are speaking in front of you, especially if there is a dark background behind them, or something neutral. When people are excited their aura will spike and shoot off energy much like fireworks. If someone is telling you a lie their aura will shrink, and become somewhat jagged.
Learning to Work With the Aura
You can work with the colors of your aura, and the chakras to create change in your life. Each color has a unique energetic vibration, and that vibration is the makeup of your aura. If you can perceive the color, you can decode the energy at work and begin to use it for your highest good.
I suggest spending a few minutes throughout the day checking in with your energy field. When you wake up in the morning close your eyes, take a few deep breathes, and let a color fill your mind. You may ask yourself, “What color am I right now?” The answer will reveal the energetic state you are in.
This is beneficial for you because it allows you to align with the Universe and with your intention. You may find that your aura is muddy colored, dull and a little gray. Which would indicate that you are feeling off, closed down, and withdrawn. This wouldn’t be an ideal energy if you were about to give a major presentation for your company.
Do this throughout the day!
Another technique is to notice what colors are jumping out at you throughout the day, or over a week. Is there a particular color you are drawn to? Or that you keep noticing at random? This is your higher self trying to get your attention, and integrate that energy into your life.
This is very noticeable in a person’s wardrobe. Everyone has their color that they look great in, but we all go through phases where we are drawn to a certain color of clothing. This is your energy field trying to regulate itself. You may look horrible in purple, or typically you avoid it in your wardrobe, but lately you’ve been buying purple clothing!
Why? Because you need a boost in your spiritual vibration, you need to tap into your intuitive self, and trust in your inner wisdom.
An Exercise to Actively Work with Aura Colors
Go to a hardware store, or a paint store and find the section of paint swatches. This is the Wonderland of colors!
Give yourself about 20 minutes and begin to brows the colors. Don’t force anything. Just look. Notice what you notice. See what colors jump out. You may find that you start with your favorite colors, but don’t get stuck there! Acknowledge all the colors.
As you go through this exercise, begin pulling out chips that speak to you. Don’t look at their names, or really investigate them closely just yet. Just let your impulse and intuition guide you.
When you have between 5-10 chips you are ready to go!
Take them home. Lay them out on a big table, or on the floor and begin grouping them. You may find that you have two main colors, or maybe you have one big group of colors.
Can you divide them into shades? Lights and darks? Different saturations?
Now being to look at the names. Are there any name themes? Do you see any dots connecting? What is the overall feeling? What word would you use to describe the collage of colors?
This is a reflection of where you are energetically, or what energy you need to pull into your life.
You can do this process as often as you like. It’s a fun way to connect with colors. It can be used for divination, much the same way you would use a deck of cards.
You can take the experience a step further by keeping the collage of colors somewhere you can look at them. You may stick them to a poster board or a corkboard. You may even decide that one color is so necessary that you want to paint a wall, or room that color!
As you follow this process you will become more sensitive to the energies around you.
Play with it and have fun!
Here is a list of color meanings that I have created. This is not a complete list. Feel free to add or take away as you see appropriate!

The Winter Solstice is the return of the Sun. This is a time to honor the graceful flow of age, and death. And to welcome the light back into our lives. As you release the old… as we did in October, you begin to make space and call in energy for new projects, new life, and good feelings.
Allow yourself time to honor the new light that is coming in. Honor yourself because you are the light of your own life. This is a powerful preparation for the New Year, and will empower the goals and aspirations that you set as we move into the coming year.
A Ceremony for Winter Solstice:
In a darkened room at Midnight gather together a tray with a symbol of light such as a fresh white candle, a token of property like a crystal, or gold coin, and a warm cup of ginger, cinnamon or spiced tea.
Create your sacred space by closing all doors, and windows, and sending any disturbances away. Set your items in the center of the room. When you are ready begin to drift into a meditate state. Breathing deeply. Swaying slowly.
Contemplate on the darkness of your own life. The fertile darkness. The uncomfortable darkness. The friendly darkness. The safe darkness. The confusing darkness. Take in all the feelings that surround the dark.
Push through those feelings. Release them into the night.
Begin to imagine a spark of light tin the center of your mind. A gentle, little spark. Like a star. Let that spark grow, and grow, and grow… until it becomes a ray. Until it becomes like the sun, and you are filled with light.
What does the light mean to you?
Now light the candle, or lantern. Speak to the flam. Rejoice in it. Give it thanks. Ask for it to shine throughout your life.
Take the token of prosperity in your hand, and hold it close to your heart. Muster feelings of gratitude and prosperity. Say a prayer of thanks for all the things that you’ve been given throughout the year. And say goodbye to the things that no longer serve you. Let the good move in. Create energetic space for your blessings.
Be with this feeling for a while. This is a talisman of prosperity. Keep it with you, or in your home.
When you’ve basked in feelings of gratitude and abundance shift your focus to what is next. Sip your tea. Take in its sweet and spicy taste. Let it fill your mouth, your head and your body. Let it move through you. Warming and reminding you of all the wonders that the light holds.
Send feelings of wonder and excitement into the future. This good energy will be waiting for you in the New Year.
Talk out loud to the Universe. Speak all the things you want to bring into your life in the New Year. Speak all the things you want to experience, change and feel. Be as honest, open and sincere as you can. Feel as if these things are already real.
Bask in this feeling.
When you are finished with your tea, and you have taken in all the energy of the light… give one last thank you.
Let the light burn out.
Keep your talisman of luck with you somewhere close… sleep with it under your pillow tonight.
The light is in your life. Honor it.

The idea of the Labyrinth has always fascinated me because it is a metaphor for life. There are many challenges we encounter; we look for the “right” path to follow. But if you stop and be still you realize that the only path you can follow is the one before you. You must keep moving forward to reach your highest potential.
That doesn’t mean there is a set destiny that you are locked into. Life is a Labyrinth. There are many turns, dead-ends and complications. Sometimes you are completely lost, and completely confused. The truth is you cannot make it to the end of the maze if you sit down where you stand. Stay in motion!
I have found stones to be very beneficial in helping to shift energy to spiritually cleanse and create change. As I meditate on the idea of the Labyrinth I see the stone Citrine. This is the “Path Opener Stone”.
Citrine is a beautiful yellow and white stone with a crystalline structure that allows light to pass through its transparent surface. If you look closely amongst the cloudy areas of white and honey you will see glimmers of rainbow light. Citrine has a gentle feeling of empowerment and nourishment.
Citrine has been regarded as a stone of success and luck. It is said to attract prosperity to sales people and merchants. It shifts a perspective of lack, to one of abundance. Citrine has the energetic properties to bring about dreams.
Citrine never absorbs negative energy, so it never needs to be cleansed. It actually breaks up negative energy and helps to dissolve it in the atmosphere. Because it helps to nullify negative influence it increases your sense of personal power and allows you to have clarity of thoughts and emotions.
Mentally and emotionally citrine works to shift the thought patterns and feelings that are limiting your success. This stone simultaneously dissipates limiting vibrations, and pushes you upward to a more inspired state of being. This rise in vibration aligns you with Spirit and helps you live a more authentic life.
The source of energetic blocks doesn’t matter when working with this stone because it permeates the aura with a type of charge that releases blocks, and then realigns and magnetizes your energy field to attract positive influence. This is why it is called the Path Opener. It opens all the closed doors to success.
You can use the influence of citrine to help you work through your own personal labyrinth. This will work to clear away blocks and obstacles on your path, and energetically push you into a place of success.
To begin gather a few citrine crystals, a variety of markers, and a large sheet of white paper.
Give yourself some alone time. Put yourself in a relaxed state. Ground and center.
Contemplate where you are in life. Look at the areas that feel blocked, stagnant or negative. As yourself where you need to “freshen” things up, and create some traction to align you with your goals.
If you’ve picked 3 areas then draw a triangle on the sheet of paper. If you’ve picked 5 then draw a five-point star. Draw a large circle at each point, and in the circle write a word or phrase to sum up the blocked area you are working on shifting.
Now take one crystal per block you are working on. Cup it in your hand and focus on your breathing. Let yourself move into the essence of the crystal. Place your thoughts and feelings into the crystal programming it to create change in the chosen area. This will align the crystal with your intention. Now place the crystal at that point.
Do this for each blocked area.
Leave the crystal grid in a safe place where it will not be disturbed. You can visit often and reaffirm your intention. Let the grid stay active until you see change in each area.
As with all energy work… the power is in the intention! Be ready for change so that the crystals can begin helping you attract the life you want.

Rice is a simple form of spiritual cleansing used in a similar way to sea salt. This is what I call a “psychic vacuum” because it draws out, and absorbs negative energies. Sometimes people will combine (white) rice and sea salt for spiritual cleansing rituals, especially in Feng Shui traditions.
The use of rice for spiritual cleansing is rooted in the Ghost Culture of China, and Japan.
There is an old Buddhist belief that there are hungry ghost roaming the earth seeking food, and liberation from pain. These ghost are the shadows of the dead who in life were greedy, evil and unsavory. Upon their death they are cursed with very large stomachs that are never full, and tiny mouths only big enough for one grain of rice to pass through at a time.
The Chinese Ghost Festival is an annual celebration in honor of the dead. According to, ChinaCulture.org, “The Chinese Ghost Festival is also called “Half July” (Lunar). It is a popular occasion celebrated throughout China on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month”. This is the time of year when these hungry ghost roam freely looking for sustenance. People honor them with offerings of Rice to keep them at bay, and stop them from causing misfortune.
Feeding the Hungry Ghost is an ancient ritual for appeasing the roaming spirits of the land, and in-turn protecting the home, and those within from their negativity. This is an offering for the ancestors, and a protective barrier for the home.
To perform the ritual of Feeding the Hungry Ghost gather a bowl of white rice. Say a prayer of thanks for those who have passed on, over the bowl. Then with the bowl of rice, walk the parameter of your home, laying a circle of rice around the foundation. A small amount of rice will do!
Halloween is the traditional time to honor the dead, and our ancestors. Perform the ritual of Feeding the Hungry Ghost during Halloween to observe this practice. This will keep your home safe from negative energy, as the veil between worlds grows thinner. You can even leave a bowl of rice by the front door, or on grave stones to honor the dead.
Here are a few more ways to use Rice for Spiritual Cleansing:
- Place a bowl of rice, and sea salt in each window of your home. This will serve as a protective barrier absorbing and disempowering negative energy that comes in your home… including ghost, and stray entities.
- Fill a bowl, or plate with rice (any kind will do). Place crystals, jewelry, Tarot decks, and other objects on the rice to absorb negative energy, and thoroughly cleanse them. Discard after two or 3 uses.
- Place uncooked rice in a muslin sachet, and tie tightly shut. Place this in your bath water, along with some lemongrass essential oil. Soak in the tub for 15-20 minutes. Do not wash with soap, or any body products this is strictly for spiritual cleansing. Dispose after each bath.
- Make a circle of salt around the base of any object, or place to create a protective barrier… as described above in the ritual of the Hungry Ghost.
- Infuse white rice with camphor essential oil by placing a few drops on uncooked rice, and tossing it about to coat each grain. Then place handfuls of the rice in sachets, or bowls around the home as a protective amulet. You can even leave them in the car, or on your person.

Florida Water is a traditional tool for spiritual cleansing, blessing and protection. It began as common toilette water in the 19th century, and grew in popularity by spiritual workers of all verities. The mixture is a combination of water, alcohol … Continue reading
Spiritually cleansing your home is a practical way to create positive change in your life. As you clear away unnecessary stray energy from your home, you release unintentional debris from your life. Because your home is a reflection of your inner world, and is directly connected to your spirit… it’s best to keep it fresh and vibrant.
Spiritual cleansing floor powders are much like store bought floor powders that you sprinkle on carpets, and then sweep up. You can make your own natural floor powders with an added magical kick! This is a simple technique that you can uses for your daily cleaning. It’s easy and adds an extra layer of freshness!
You will need to gather together two basic ingredients: Baking Soda, and Crushed Sea Salt. This will be the base of our powder. Both work wonders for clearing away negative and stagnant energy. We will add some botanicals to the base.
The following botanicals are wonderful for clearing away negative energy, and warding off unwanted vibrations:
Basil: Attracts positive energy, and benevolent spiritual influences. Freshens the Aura, and gives it a magnetic quality. Will clear away lower vibrating energies and entities.
Hyssop: One of the Holy plants for spiritual cleansing. It strips away negative energy and replaces it with good vibrations. It will bring environments into equilibrium, especially after highly charged emotional conflicts.
Mint: Infuses the aura with a subtle, happy vibration. Creates an atmosphere of peace, love and understanding. Wonderful to freshen the air, and release mental clutter. Not as aggressive as some botanicals.
Parsley: This is an herb of prosperity and abundance. This will wash away hardship and stagnation with money and business. Very good herb to use if you are feeling uninspired in your space and ready for a change. Works well when combined with other botanicals, or to “freshen” things up between major cleansings.
Rose: Ooh my favorite botanical to use for spiritual cleansing. It is light, gentle, and very very effective. It keeps the energy field strong, and vibrating at a high frequency. This keeps negative at bay because it essentially cannot be in the space.
Rosemary: Works wonders because of its astringent qualities. Great for clearing a space after major work has been done, or a crowed has left. This is another herb that works well to keep things fresh in between major cleansings. It can be combined with Mint, and Sage with good results. Also, this is a nice cleansing agent when preparing a space for spiritual contact.
Rue: Another one of the Holy botanicals. This is, along with Hyssop, one of the most powerful cleansing botanicals. Used to clear away negativity lingering from spiritual work, unwanted visitors and entities, and any other strange vibrations that you cannot shake. Works well to help bring things back into harmony. Sometimes this will clear away things you didn’t expect to lose!!
Sage: One of the most common, and effective spiritual cleansing botanicals. Regarded as sacred among Native Americans, and other shamanic cultures. It is a beautiful herb that enlightens the mind and spirit, and brings things into unison. It is has a way of moving things along without a fight!
Vervain: A wonderful herb that enhances the affects of other herbs. It also clears away psychic attacks and things pertaining to dreams.
Now, Gather together your base ingredients of Crushed Sea Salt, and Baking Soda. Then choose one or more of the botanicals listed above. All will be helpful; one may jump out at you. Trust your intuition.
In a large bowl mix together 1 cup of crushed sea salt, and 1 cup of Baking Soda. Add 1/2 – 1 cup of your chosen botanical to the mixture. If you decide to use more than one botanical do a ½ of each. Stir the mixture together well using a wooden spoon. Be sure to stir the mixture in a clockwise motion. I like to do this 7, 9, or 13 times.
I like to say a prayer over the mixture, or visualize the herbs and botanicals working together and forming a glowing light over the mixture. Use your creative visualization infuse divine light into the powder. Any power, or words of affirmation are suitable.
If you are unable to find powdered botanicals, you can also use essential oils. Either will be suitable. You can even use both! Essential oils will add a lot of fragrance to the mixture!
When you are finished carry the mixture from room to room, and sprinkle a handful around the floor. Especially let it settle in any messy areas where dust and dirt have collected (those are fertile breeding ground for negative energy!).
You can let the mixture sit on the carpet for 10-15 minutes. Then go through each room, sweeping, or vacuuming up the powder. As you clear it away, visualize all the negative and stagnant energy that has collected in your space being dissolved and swept away. Again, you can say a prayer, or affirmation of blessing.
Discard the dirt and powder in the trash, and remove the bag from your home immediately.
If you want to smudge with sage afterward you can. This will enhance the powders benefits. You can also light blessed candles to keep the energy flowing and fresh.
You should feel so fresh and so clean!!
Please, experiment with different herbs and botanicals. You may find one that really stands out to you over the others. Do this as often as you like. Once a week would be ideal.
