A Prayer to Touch the Divine

Universal spirit of love and light

Wrap your satin glow around me

In protection, power and grace

Give me the vision to see beyond

These walls that keep me bound

In this illusion of depletion and separation

Hush my ego self so that spirit may whisper to me

Working through my fragile shell to guide

Those who seek refuge in your light

Allow me to access with clarity

The wisdom, the healing and the knowledge

Of the all knowing, the I Am

So that our path in this earth-walk may be

A little easier, a little brighter

Let me bask in the love of the Universe

Grant me the courage and the power to see

The love and light within my spirit

Allow me to step beyond the veil

To the world where we have not forgotten our glory

Where time flows into one golden ring

And the answers I seek are found

And where the desires I have are made real

With the hand of celestial helpers guiding me

And the love of the guiding flames

Let me walk this path

In this moment, in each day

So shall it be

Book Review: The Day Your Heart Broke In Your Eyes

“Sometimes, you will find yourselves living your life, yet your familiar, cherished goals and objects no longer hold desire, or perhaps even relevance, for who you have become and who you are becoming.”

-The Day Your Heart Broke In Your Eyes

Met by a vision of “fluid light” in which everything began to vibrate with life and divinity, Marcia Brennan’s world was changed. She became aware of her Angelic guides and began blazing a trail into a mysterious world of seeing beyond what meets the human eye, and becoming a channel for something greater than herself.

We have all been in a place of despair, confusion and fear, not knowing what the next step should be, not knowing who we are or what we should be doing. It’s not uncommon to want to find your “life purpose”, but how exactly do you connect with your center and find your place in the world?

The Day Your Heart Broke In Your Eyes is a wealth of channeled wisdom given to us from the Angels of Recognition. Though at times a bit overly floral, the language is poignant and lyrical, speaking to our visceral sense of divinity. Each passage offers a different facet of the spiritual experience, giving ample space for self-reflection.

Writing in a very abstract style, musing on very abstract concepts makes the book a bit difficult to read at times. As with many texts, I often find the need to digest the message or to really meditate on the message, but more often than not, I was distracted by this abstract approach. I felt there were clearer ways to phrase these deeply spiritual messages.

The Day Your Heart Broke In Your Eyes is an almost narrative experience with equal parts of visual complexity and riddle. You will feel as if you’ve fallen into a strange wonderland, cradled by angel wings and prompted by your inner whispers. This book will wrap you in a gossamer tapestry of illuminated prose and contradictions.

I urge you as a reader to approach the book as a type of oracle; the information is more easily digested in small portions. Ask the angels for guidance and open at random to see what insight they can impart. Allow your left-brain, analytical mind to rest as you read these insights, and learn to feel the words on the page. What kind of experience do they evoke for you? Follow it like the white rabbit to a place of awakening.

I must admit that the beginning, autobiographical portion of the book drugged on a bit, and the book became more intriguing and adventurous as it neared the middle half to the end. But my perception of the text changed once I began seeing each portion as a meditation, instead of an explanation.

This isn’t a text of how-to, it is a glimmer of light into your own darkness, the beginning step of a path you must dare to tread on your own. Or as the Angels so eloquently put it, “Through the vehicle of this book, we offer you a kite string, a living connection to the world of moving colors that swirls so gracefully and magically above and around and within you”.

The title, The Day Your Heart Broke In Your Eyes was echoed throughout the book many times, but the explanation of the phrase never came. I am still left feeling a little unfulfilled by the title… I patiently read on, contemplated the many passages where it showed up, looked back for something I may have missed, but the explanation was never given. It felt like overkill and a bit clunky. Maybe the message will reveal itself later, but for now I think something else would have been more fitting.

I applaud Marcia Brennan for her bravery and dedication to the Angels. Becoming a channel for such a powerful beam of light and significant message is a big undertaking. This book isn’t for the beginner, but more for the seasoned spiritual traveler. This is, in fact, a guide to navigate the mystic deeper into one’s own mysteries.

Do you want to reach deeper? Go higher? Expand beyond where you are now? Then pick up this book!  The Day Your Heart Broke In Your Eyes is a text that will change and evolve each time you read it. Hidden within its layers of light and shadows are immeasurable morsels of wisdom, so keep reading.

Dancing With Freedom, As Death Dances Away

The night has grown around me, dark, velvet and gentle and with it comes a graceful coolness that subtly creeps into the hollow parts of me… reminding me of what has been lost. In my life I have seen dark things, dangerous things, things that have cut me so deep that not even time can take their sting away. And yet I’ve danced with so much passion and beauty that I often wonder what can come to rival what’s been before.

I sit here and I am reminded of the beautiful lights that I’ve lost along the way. The ones, who’ve touched me, loved me… who have felt me in the deepest, most tender places of my heart and soul. Many hands have held my own, but very few have really lived in my world. So as their lives have faded away I try to keep alive the memories of the love they’ve given to me.

On a lonely night in July I pass through memories by candlelight. Faces that I’ve missed in my life, voices I will never hear again and the warm feeling of fur brushing against my sullen face. I try to close my eyes and reach with all my sense the feelings of being with them. But only the faintest of feelings can be experienced now. Its not as if real life can be recreated in pictures and memories… our thoughts can work backwards but they will never truly turn back time.

I myself have spoken to spirits… I have whispered to shadows… but I’ve never walked the time line back to a place where I could rekindle the connects which I’ve so desperately longed for. They are shinning stars too far from my reach too touch, but close enough that I still see them. And in that vast universe of possibilities I will hold them like precious gems… cherished forever.

Death is a reminder to us that everything is in constant motion; an endless dance that moves us from one phase to the next. Passing through doors you remain a part of the changeless change. As a caterpillar dies to the beauty of a butterfly, so does our soul here on earth shed it shell to fly with something a little more spectacular, brilliant and gleaming. Death is the teacher, the keeper and the lover. Death gives us the gift of living… if only we see it before our time.

I know that no matter how much it hurts that all of my angels are by my side. They stand tall with me and my tears become the sea and the boat of my dream floats gently with their guiding winds. There is nothing to fear no matter how alone I am. I look into the water and there next to my reflection are all those who have ever loved me. So I hug myself tight, trying hard once again to soak up that ephemeral memory… knowing that at some point it will come again… no matter how different it may be.

To these feelings I assign two cards: The Death card and the 6 of swords.

Death, which is the keeper of change and the dance of the universe. Death is the one who reminds us to find our feet in the dark and just give into the sway, the grind, the wild twirl of everything that is. Death heralds change… but change is not destructive its alchemical.

The 6 of swords is the card that shows us the wisdom in contemplation, mediation and just drifting away. Those whom we love and have loved will come and go. Some will leave intentionally and others unexpected, but its all part of the beat that we are dancing to. If you were to veil your face in black lace, step onto a candle lit boat and glide effortlessly into the foggy sea you would find the meaning of this card. It is here in this silent place, where everything moves with the tides and the moon, that we find what really lives in our souls.

Don’t forget those whom you have touched and who have touched you… remember we are all lights trying to lift the darkness. There is nothing that has to separate you… not color, gender, race or religion. Rely less on form and more on feeling… when we live through are spirit we truly find our way.

To the gypsies,

Shaheen

Spiritual Message/ Update June 3

Dear Friends,

I have been so eager to write to all of you, but my schedule has been so full that its just been too difficult. I have also been phoneless for a week, because someone stole my new phone. If you have been trying to call me, please know that I haven’t been ignoring you, I just don’t have my phone.  Let me share a few updates with you and a spiritual message.

  • I would like to say again, my phone was stolen. I will still have the same number, but my stolen phone hasn’t been “turned off” yet because we were trying to locate it before replacing it. If you’ve tried to contact me, and either found that the call wasn’t going through or that I haven’t returned your call or answered, no fears I just haven’t had a phone. I should be getting one in the next few days… until then you may contact me via email. (Please send me an email if you’ve tried to contact me and weren’t able to).
  • I have mentioned before and it bears repeating, I will be Leaving for London, UK on June 21st, and I will be gone for 10 weeks. In that time I will still be doing readings for those of you here in the US, but it will take a little more strategic planning. I will be doing my readings either as emails or through a skype session. If you are unfamiliar with skype, it is a free, online program that allows you to create an account so that you may video chat with anyone, anywhere… as long as you have a camera, computer and an account. It would be best to email me from June 21st-September 1st to set up appointments, etc.
  • I will be offering a 10% discount on all half hour phone readings until the 17th of June, so feel free to set up a session.
  • My schedule shall be freeing up for the next few weeks, which will allow me to take on more readings. You may set up in-person or phone sessions, either half hour or hour long readings. Call or email for availability and I will work you in. (I want to take care of as many sessions as I can before I leave for London).
  • Remember that Psychic Saturday is June 11th (the second Saturday of every month) and there will be 5 15-minute sessions available for $15 each. First come fist serve, this is the perfect opportunity to get those 2 or 3 burning questions answered in between full sessions.
  • September 17th I would like to have another Gypsy Tea Party for those of you who would like to learn about tealeaf reading. The Gypsy Tea Party will be held during High Tea at a tearoom, in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. It will be an intimate group setting, filled with learning, readings and fun. If interested let me know… more details to come.
  • I will be blogging more in the next few weeks and on through the summer. Lots of fun stuff to read there… feel free to check it out and share it with friends. shaheenmiroinsights.wordpress.com

I cannot wait to hear from all of you. Wishing you a happy June… hope the summer is treating you well.

Spiritual Message:

Stop telling yourself that there is no time for dreaming. I want you to remember that there is always something beautiful to be found, no matter how dark and dismal things may seem. You have to know that dreams can come alive in the dark.

If you have been working toward a goal or dreaming up some huge, crazy dream, then get ready because dreams are about to come true. The one thing I want you to remember is that it is your right to have everything you want…. All the things that build you up, that make you feel whole, spiritual and vibrant are meant to be yours. Do not deny yourself of that.

Happiness is no longer somewhere in the distance. Respect your path and spirit and honor the wisdom that lives inside of you. When you embrace the inner callings of your soul, you open a treasure trove of possibilities. What has been on your mind will now come into you life… so stop the worries! Bring only goodness in.

Rejoice in the present reality, as possibilities are in the works of becoming real. Keep calling to your dreams and they will float softly to you. Now is the time and you have all the magic in the universe at your fingertips.

Affirm: “I can dream my biggest dreams, and I have the right to attain everyone of them. Each day I wake a new dream is made reality…. And I am grateful for it!”

Much Love,

Shaheen

Fall Into the Dark

There is something calming about falling into the night, just letting go and allowing the hushed and gentle spirit of the Moon to speak to you. I find myself coming alive in the dark. I lay down to go to bed after a long, hard day and something in me is awakened by the subtle calm that permeates the air. I want to write, I want to sing, I want to tell my secrets to the angels.

I feel that I’ve crossed over into another world as the night comes on. Everything looks different, one thing transforms into another. We all become shape shifters in the dark. We unwind and let go; we shed the layers of the day. Like a weight has been lifted and we become light again. Its at night, in the dark that we can become the darkness unafraid.

There is nothing to fear in the dark because if you close your eyes everything becomes nothing and nothing is all the same. Its a powerful form of alchemy where you can experience what is unable to be seen in the light of day. Its not that everything in the night is taboo in the day, its just easier at night because there are no expectations. You have no guilt when you are falling into the darkness because thats whats expected; whether you are sleeping, dreaming or going wild.

I ask you to find what sets you free. In the still of the night find something that inspires you. My muse comes alive in the night. She takes my hand and ask me to dance with her. Thats when I write my deepest poems and draw out my most intimate dreams. The night time is powerful because its very intimate. The night time is like a silk velvet robe of the darkest ebony, slipping around your body gently touching you, keeping you safe. So let yourself unwind and just fall into it all, you become the darkness and let the darkness become you. Thats when I know you should whisper to your angels.

Be creative, be alive and most of all be free…

I love your gypsy souls….

Shaheen

Spiritual Message

Remember that there is wisdom in letting go. Its time to let go of all the things that weigh you down and that no longer bring you joy. Far to often we hold onto things much longer than we need to. Once you have outgrown something you have to release it or you keep yourself from pulling into your awareness the next beautiful gift.

I want you to look at the people, objects, feelings, beliefs and ideas that you are holding onto. Which one is worn out? Which ones have you totally outgrown? Which ones have begun to choke the life out of your new dreams, wishes and goals?

Allow your awareness to go to the things in your life that act as black holes sucks, absorbing and totally eating away your enthusiasm and energy. Trust you intuition and know that often the first thing you go to is the right thing… start letting go there!

This message is so relevant right now. As I said before the Earth is purging itself of the old and worn out. Like her we must do the same. With the wind and the rain comes a sense of cleansing and renewal. Allow it to wash you clean. Allow the beautiful white light of the divine to enter your existence and bring healing.

Best Wishes,

Shaheen

Ace of Diamonds

I keep fiddling with a new deck of linen finish playing cards that I bought the other day. I have a fascination with cards in general and I’ve been wanting to buy a deck of regular playing card for a bit now. I like the idea of holding something in your hands that to most people seems so plain and ordinary, but actually has many, many secrets to tell.

This seminally ordinary deck of cards has kept me entertained for the past few days.I just sit here at the table shuffling, flipping, observing and shuffling again. In doing this simple ritual I have had a few “jumping” cards… and over and over again I seem to get the Ace of Diamonds. A wonderful card to get I might add.

The ace of diamonds is a card of new beginnings and new projects. Its a card that tell us we are on the path to success, prosperity and security. This card is often a sign from the universe that the things you have worked so hard to dream up, believe in and manifest are now coming true. Diamonds are beautiful stones created from heat, stress, pressure and time… often the very things we put into our goals. The ace of diamonds is the herald of good energy and new opportunity.

I love that this card keeps appearing in my life because its totally relevant. I am in the process of planning a trip to London for work… looking for housing and saving to pay for it. I am immersing myself in designing. And I have been seeing so many things growing and expanding with my readings and writing. Its powerful right now… the alignment of intention and manifestation.

I continually practice gratitude and faith in Spirit knowing that each thing shall fall into place and that I am deserving of the absolute best! I think that’s the Ace of Diamonds reminder to us, “The best is yours for the taking… just open the door and invite it in.”

Much Love,

Shaheen

A Night With the Gypsy

Last night was wonderful. I was invited to do readings at a small boutique called Ottoman Imports in Covington, Ky… for Ladies Night Out! It was a blast. The shop is a quaint little place, filled with flowing scarfs reminiscent of Morocco and beautiful silky garments beaded and embroidered like old kimonos. It felt nice to be in a place that vibrated with such color and passion. And the court yard where I did readings… was even more etherial.

The night start with a sense of electric in the air, that feeling before a storm as if you have your hand on the pulse of the great mother. The wind swirled around me and the night fell gently on our shoulders inviting us to dance with the mysterious characters of the tarot. I was out back in a small and inviting courtyard, under a spacious canvas tent. I made sure I brought a fabulous scarf, one of my favorite decks of cards and the openness to touch the wisdom of the universe.

People started making their way into the shop, escorted to the courtyard by the lovely owner. Sitting down to take a peak at what may be going on “out there”. Right before laying out the cards I always get this surge of energy, part anxiety and part anticipation. Its not every day you sit down for an arranged meeting with spirit… there is something reverent about the whole experience. I think everyone last night knew it too.

Conversing with people through the night, many card and many stories told… it was wonderful. Eventually we had to relocate the reading table to the inside of the boutique because the wind decided he wanted to be a little more wild than we could handle. It was great though. Right before we went inside, the wind had picked up jerking the canvas tent from side to side like a helpless paper bag. But the woman whom i was reading and I just laughed and laughed… we thought it was grand. But for our safety we made our way in.

The inside was just as magical and people didn’t seem to mind the change of scenery, besides you can read no matter where you are… I’ve read on busses in Mexico and the busy streets of big cities. We marched on reading and chatting, peaking and planning. All of the people whom I read for were amazing, wonderful stories and wonderful wisdoms. You know the cards talk to everyone who is at the table… regardless of who shuffled.

A duo of ladies came at one point and they loved there readings. They cried, they laughed, they hugged, they got sassy, they told stories… and they cried again. Later I heard that they kept crying all the way down the street. The one woman was asked if she was okay and her response was, “I am so amazing right now… so happy” and on and on she sobbed. Readings are cleansing for sure.

The night ended with a group of 5 wild and wonderful ladies. All goddesses in their own right and the best of friends. We sat circled around a small table in the shop front of this boutique watching the night walkers pass the window as we took one last walk in the wonderland of tarot. One by one they asked their questions and shuffled their cards… It really was one big reading part. 5 women, one reading. They were all just listening so that they could “help” each other remember their session. So fun.. so so fun!

We said our goodbyes and I headed home. It was such a magical night to be out. The wind and the rain and the energy was just alive and inspiring. I cannot wait to do it again. There is so much excitement in groups of people. Being there it really inspired me to get myself in gear to be doing classes… so look for that soon

All the best,

Shaheen
