Energetic self-care is essentail for living happy and free. When you work on cleansing and clearing the aura you release toxic energetic build up and debri, which can manifest as negative feelings and the like. I have created this beautiful … Continue reading
I have written extensively on spiritual/psychic cleansing, which is the act of releasing negative, unwanted and unintentional energies that surround you. This is an affirmative process that defines your space, and reestablishes your connection to your highest good. With that being said, spiritual cleansing is just that cleaning.
If you dust your home, rest assured that you will need to dust again. If you cleanse your energy body, you will need to do it again! What a practical concept. You are wiping away the unwanted, but you must replace it with something.
Think about it this way, when you are spiritually cleansing yourself, you are setting an intention hat you are releasing something unwanted, to allow you to connect with something you do want. Break that down… what do you want…well to put it simply you are wanting to be happy, you are wanting to feel good, you are wanting to be whole, completely tapped into your natural state of wellbeing.
Vibration is the key. Everything is a vibration, whether it is a low/negative, or high/positive vibration…everything is vibration. When you are spiritually cleanse yourself, you are ridding yourself of accumulated, negative gunk.
What allowed that negative gunk to form?
You! Your state of being, either consciously, or unconsciously you welcomed those negative vibrations. Now that is not meant to instill a sense of guilt in you, or fear. It is just the fact of the matter. This can come from a simple willingness to be open to whatever is around you. And at different times of your life you will find your defenses are weak.
The key to successful spiritual cleansing is to raise your vibration, and protect your energy self. Raising your vibration means that you are moving from a lower vibratory state, to a higher one. You are moving from fear, to acceptance. You are moving from pain, to wellness. You are moving from anger, to love.
When you clear one vibration, you must replace it with its energetic opposite. This is where most people fall short. If you spiritually release your pain, and then continue to follow pain patterns, then this will only be a very, very temporary fix.
Clear the negativity away, and choose a vibration that is opposite then you will not need to cleanse yourself as often. Taking protective measures after spiritual cleansing will fortify this process, and essentially take you to the next highest vibration.
Name your vibration
Before you do a spiritual cleansing session take some time to meditate on your state of being. Name your vibration. Give it a name. What do you feel in that moment?
Give it a one-word name. Be simple, be clear, and be honest. There is power in a name. If you name something you are getting to the heart of whatever it is. It doesn’t matter the source of your vibration. The vibration itself is all that matters.
Maybe you named your current vibration as anger. So you are feeling anger right now. You are being bound up in anger. You are vibrating with anger, and you are attracting more opportunities for anger.
It doesn’t matter where your feelings of anger come from. They may come from you, and you alone. Or maybe your experience of anger is brought on from someone in your life. On the deepest level all things are coming from you because somewhere you have accepted that state of being.
Remember, everything is a mirror of your inner world.
Later you can look for the source, and make a conscious effort to eliminate, or avoid that thing!
But for now we are naming the vibration. You are experiencing a vibration of anger. So what is the opposite of anger? The opposite of anger is love.
So you are eliminating, cleansing away the vibration of anger to make way for the vibration of love. You want to experience love, and in order to do this you have to wipe away the feelings of anger.
Go through the process of clearing away anger. This can be done in any number of ways. Cleanse yourself with a Sacred Sage Bundle to release negative energy. Try misting a botanical mixture like, The Gypsy’s Aura Elixir. Do a sea salt bath to clear way negative energy. Whatever method works for you… do it.
And then… replace it with the opposite vibration.
How to choose a better vibration
You can simply choose the next vibration. Remember, your most powerful tool for change is your mind. Your mind is the way you direct your reality. When you consciously manifest your life, you can experience whatever you want.
That sounds simple, and easy. And really it is. But for most people it is easier said than done. But here we are, in this moment, choosing to do something different. And that is the key!
Name your next vibration. Name the next highest vibration you can believe in. Maybe you are releasing anger, and wanting to move to a place of love. But love might be way too far off for you to go right now. So we move to a vibration of acceptance.
You are accepting your experience. You are accepting yourself. Acceptance is the pathway to love. Maybe you are going to move to a state of like… and then from there you can move to a state of love.
A few ways to infuse your energy body with a new, higher vibration
Work with crystal energy. Crystals are seeds of energy. They are concentrated forms of intentional vibrations. When you work with crystals you are infusing yourself with the essence of whatever vibration that crystal holds.
In this case we are moving through anger, to love. So using a stone of love, that vibrates with love, will open the heart center, integrating into your vibration, and helping you get to a move loving place.
This can be a simple process of holding a stone of love. Or taking a bath infused with a love crystal. Rose quartz is a powerful stone of love. It is gentle, and friendly. This will help to balance and fortify your intention for love.
Herbs, and botanicals also vibrate at a high rate. Taking an herbal bath will help to infuse your aura with a certain vibratory pattern. The traditional tool Florida Water has been used for years in spiritual practices because it vibrates at a high rate. It basically eradicates negative vibrations.
You can use Florida Water after you have done a traditional spiritual cleansing. Mist yourself with Florida Water, dab it on your wrist. And as you are doing this set the intention for yourself that you are going to feel a higher vibration.
Affirm this, concentrate on it. Meditate on it. Remind yourself of this higher vibration every time you begin to stray from it. And believe it, feel it in every fiber of your being.
When I work with clients during an Intuitive Consultation we are naming the energies at play in their lives. When we name these energies, and see how they are working through life… we can find points of power to make change. This will give you a snapshot of where you are, where you’ve been, and how that is dictating the path you are going down.
When I work with clients during a spiritual cleansing, energy session we are working to remove these negative blocks, and filling the holes with a higher vibration. I enjoy this process because it is a proactive approach to spiritual/psychic cleansing.
We are not only removing, or working to remove the block, but we are trying to replace it with something better.
If something is making you sick, you treat the symptom, and remove the source. If you just treat the symptom of your sickness… in this case your energetic disharmony, without removing the source then you will only get back what you had before.
I invite you to take this step forward. I would be happy to help you along the way. I want you to feel empowered. I want you to move forward in your life in a positive direction. We can do this together if you like.
Follow your heart!
Pyrite is one of my favorite stones to work with. You are probably familiar with Pyrite, commonly called, “Fools Gold”. It is a highly reflective, metallic stone that forms in cube shapes, or round disks. When held in one light it shines a soft gold, and turned another it has a lighter, almost silver hue.
Pyrite actually means, “fire” connecting this stone with fire energy. Pyrite grows as cubic crystals made of iron sulfide, which connects it to earth energy. If struck together Pyrite will actually create sparks.
Energetically Pyrite ground, centers, focuses and establishes boundaries and authority. In times when you need to be more focused, extroverted and assertive, Pyrite is a powerful ally. Working with the energy of Pyrite will help to re-establish your natural connection to the earth, pulling it into your core, creating a type of personal “fire” that can be directed to clear away unwanted forces, or ignite new ideas.
Ideally, Pyrite is used for psychic and spiritual protection. Naturally it pulls in stray, excess energy, and mingles this with strong earth energy. This energy creates a force field around the wearer that fortifies the personal aura, but adding an extra layer of armor. This force field establishes personal space, and boundaries, and keeps unwanted influence at bay.
The reflective quality of Pyrite hints at its ability to deflect negative energy and influence. I have found that Pyrite will deflect, and return negative, and harmful thoughts to the sender. This is especially helpful for people who suffer from depression, anxiety, and mental anguish.
Empathics, spiritual workers, and public figures benefit greatly from Pyrite as it helps to define personal space, and boost self-confidence so that you can overcome, face, and eloquently work through any situation. Visualize Pyrite as a grounding rod for high impact energies that are inundating the wearer.
Keeping Pyrite in the workspace is especially auspicious because it transmutes energy. On a deeper level Pyrite ignites an alchemical process that marries Earth and Sun. When kept in a workspace you will begin to feel a subtle strength that permeates the air, adding to the flow of creative ideas, confidence, and the ability to follow through to the end.
Pyrites transformative quality is the core of its power as a protective stone. Unlike stones that just ward off negative energy, Pyrite actually pulls the unwanted energy into it’s core, thus establishing a protective boundary that will deflect any remaining energy that works to overwhelm it’s perimeter. I like to this of Pyrite as a proactive stone. It doesn’t passively weather the storm, it works to shift and change the energies at play for a more conducive atmosphere.
Tapping into the protective nature of this stone is simple. Find a beautiful piece of Pyrite that speaks to you. Hold it in your hand; establish a connection with the stone by feeling it. Let it speak to you. Befriend it.
What does it feel like when you hold it?
What parts of your body does it activate?
What emotions, sensations, and impression do you have?
Graciously ask for your Pyrite crystal to create a protective barrier around you. You can be general, or very specific about what you wish to be shielded from. I like to affirm my intention by speaking out loud to the crystal. Holding it in my hand, turning it around gently on all sides. Breathing into its life force, and inhaling it into my own.
Once you have established this connection carry your crystal with you. Keep it in your pocket, purse, or on a piece of jewelry. I carry a bag that I keep my current crystal friends in. When I am working in a stationary setting I will take them all out, one by one, saying hello, reaffirming my intention and asking for their help again, and then I arrange them around me!
Sleeping with Pyrite on your bedside table, or under your pillow is especially powerful. This is beneficial for people who feel they are under psychic attach, extreme pressure, or if you are experiencing nightmares.
Cleanse and recharge Pyrite crystals by placing them in a bowl of rock salt. Set them in a sunny window to recharge, and pull out their luster. Never put them in water. Pyrite is especially friendly with Black Tourmaline, and Hematite.

There is something so exciting and beautiful about seeing someone’s aura blooming, growing and pulsating in front of you. It’s a lightshow of rainbow colors that reflect the person’s inner world, their mood, emotions, and the things they are pulling and pushing in and out of their lives.
The aura is the unique energetic story each and every person is telling.
The aura is composed of many layers of energy, constantly moving and cycling, much like a wheel. Some energies cycle out quickly, and others linger for an extended amount of time. When energy starts to take on a cyclical pattern then it represents something that is being held onto, a lesson to be learned, or a particular energy that you are in need of.
The aura reflects our every thought, feeling, and experience. It will change accordingly. The most telling thing about the aura is the texture and color that are emanating from it. When you are aware of this you can learn a lot about a person, or situation.
Often times the aura knows the truth about a person or situation before you consciously do.
The chakra system (the 7 main energy centers of the body) is made up of the seven colors of the rainbow. Each chakra dictates a different experience, and the energy of that chakra loops together and creates the aura. If you are experiencing a block in a specific chakra, that will appear in the aura.
Not only does the aura reflect the chakras system, it also reflects all the things you encounter throughout your day, and your life as a whole. The aura is your energetic story, and with that story is your energetic history.
You may find yourself naturally experiencing other people’s auras. It can be very subtle such as a tingly feeling when you are very close to a person, or maybe you’ve experienced the sudden sensation of coming up against a wall when interacting with a person… this is their aura shielding you out.
It’s also very common to see a person’s aura when they are speaking in front of you, especially if there is a dark background behind them, or something neutral. When people are excited their aura will spike and shoot off energy much like fireworks. If someone is telling you a lie their aura will shrink, and become somewhat jagged.
Learning to Work With the Aura
You can work with the colors of your aura, and the chakras to create change in your life. Each color has a unique energetic vibration, and that vibration is the makeup of your aura. If you can perceive the color, you can decode the energy at work and begin to use it for your highest good.
I suggest spending a few minutes throughout the day checking in with your energy field. When you wake up in the morning close your eyes, take a few deep breathes, and let a color fill your mind. You may ask yourself, “What color am I right now?” The answer will reveal the energetic state you are in.
This is beneficial for you because it allows you to align with the Universe and with your intention. You may find that your aura is muddy colored, dull and a little gray. Which would indicate that you are feeling off, closed down, and withdrawn. This wouldn’t be an ideal energy if you were about to give a major presentation for your company.
Do this throughout the day!
Another technique is to notice what colors are jumping out at you throughout the day, or over a week. Is there a particular color you are drawn to? Or that you keep noticing at random? This is your higher self trying to get your attention, and integrate that energy into your life.
This is very noticeable in a person’s wardrobe. Everyone has their color that they look great in, but we all go through phases where we are drawn to a certain color of clothing. This is your energy field trying to regulate itself. You may look horrible in purple, or typically you avoid it in your wardrobe, but lately you’ve been buying purple clothing!
Why? Because you need a boost in your spiritual vibration, you need to tap into your intuitive self, and trust in your inner wisdom.
An Exercise to Actively Work with Aura Colors
Go to a hardware store, or a paint store and find the section of paint swatches. This is the Wonderland of colors!
Give yourself about 20 minutes and begin to brows the colors. Don’t force anything. Just look. Notice what you notice. See what colors jump out. You may find that you start with your favorite colors, but don’t get stuck there! Acknowledge all the colors.
As you go through this exercise, begin pulling out chips that speak to you. Don’t look at their names, or really investigate them closely just yet. Just let your impulse and intuition guide you.
When you have between 5-10 chips you are ready to go!
Take them home. Lay them out on a big table, or on the floor and begin grouping them. You may find that you have two main colors, or maybe you have one big group of colors.
Can you divide them into shades? Lights and darks? Different saturations?
Now being to look at the names. Are there any name themes? Do you see any dots connecting? What is the overall feeling? What word would you use to describe the collage of colors?
This is a reflection of where you are energetically, or what energy you need to pull into your life.
You can do this process as often as you like. It’s a fun way to connect with colors. It can be used for divination, much the same way you would use a deck of cards.
You can take the experience a step further by keeping the collage of colors somewhere you can look at them. You may stick them to a poster board or a corkboard. You may even decide that one color is so necessary that you want to paint a wall, or room that color!
As you follow this process you will become more sensitive to the energies around you.
Play with it and have fun!
