The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Aura Repair Tea

The aura is composed of layers of energy intricately woven together. When there is a weak spot, or a hole in the aura, energy begins to leak away causing you to feel lethargic, disoriented, angry, or confused. Spiritual cleansing and shielding is essential to keep this from happening!

One trick to help strengthen and heal the aura is to use an Aura Repair Tea. This allows the gossamer fibers of the aura to reconstruct. Reweaving and repairing holes, leaks and tears.

Here are few recipes:

Rose and Sage Tea

You will see that I am very fond of roses in my spiritual cleansing recipes because they work in a very gentle way, but they yield big results. When taken as a tea the rose essence works with the natural structure of the aura to help regenerate itself. Sage is powerful because it purges the aura of negativity; the rose fills in the gaps!

For one pot of tea add 2 cups of dried rose petals, one cup of sage leaves, to 3 cups of spring water.

Let the tea steep for 5-10 minutes before drinking. As the tea steeps pray for divine light to bless the water. You can call on Mother Mary if you feel a connection with her essence.

Yarrow and Peppermint Tea

Yarrow purges the aura and jumpstarts it’s natural abilities to repair itself. It has a similar energy to rose, but it tends to be a little more protective because of its astringent qualities. Yarrow is the mythological plant used by Achilles, hence the Latin name, Achillea millefolium.

Peppermint lightens the aura and infuses it with a good dose of positive energy. Peppermint is a very magnetic herb and attracts “good fortune”. Peppermint is overall invigorating.

It’s good to add the two together because of Yarrows slightly bitter taste.

For one pot of tea add 3 teaspoons of dried yarrow flowers, one cup of dried peppermint leaves, to 3 cups of spring water.

A NOTE ON TEA

You can experiment with combining the above herbs. You can use all 4 together, or each separately. Yarrow shouldn’t be taken daily. Sage, Rose, and Peppermint can be taken daily. Peppermint is a wonderful tea to start the morning with because it jumpstarts physical body, and charges the aura.

DO NOT drink herbal teas if you are pregnant.

ALWAYS consult a doctor, and research the side effects of herbs before taking them internally.

I am NOT a doctor, nor am I liable for your health.

These recipes are for your personal use.

Use at your own risk!

Touching the Divine: Praying With Tarot

Prayer is touching the Divine with reverence…giving your hopes, fears and dreams to the Divine, and then listening. Most people pray daily, whether or not it’s a sacred solemn hour of prayer or quick “note to God” in the car… most people pray! But what they don’t do is listen.

When you pray you must listen, and not only listen but also find the heart of your prayer! Most prayers are superficial, not to say they come from a superficial place, but most prayers only touch the surface of what is really stifling a person. You must explore the depth of what you are asking for.

Have you ever thought about praying with Tarot? The cards are a language for you to communicate with the Universe. So why not touch the Divine by praying with the Tarot? The beauty here is that you create a dialogue with the Universe. You pray and the Universe speaks.

Passivity in prayer is a downfall. The Universe asks you to be a co-creator in your reality. You aren’t a helpless puppet falling prey to the whim sand fancy of some person in the sky! You are a vibrant, energetic being, casting beautiful rays into the world! You are DIVINE! You must pray like you are divine!

Prayer is a partnership! Pray as a creator. Pray and listen. Pray and communicate! Don’t pray like you are entitled… or helpless! There are those moments when you feel you are breaking, when in desperation you have to call out to the creator and beg for salvation. It’s human nature to reach out in our darkest hour… when we see nothing before us. Even in those moments of despair your must learn to listen. To ask for the answers and listen.

When I pray with Tarot I come to the moment as if I am meeting an old, wise friend. I open my heart and mind. I allow myself to be moved by wonder. I hold my cards in my hand. I call out to the Divine with prayer. Then, I let the Divine speak back through the cards. I ask and listen. I question. Moving closer to the heart of my need.

Do not just open the door with prayer; use Tarot to invite the wisdom of the Universe and your guides in. Tarot is a bridge for you to communicate with the Universe… and your soul.

Take an active approach. Instead of asking to receive something, pray by asking questions.

You may call out to the Divine begging for a romantic partner, “I am lonely, please, bring me someone I can love!” Take a different approach, instead of making a request; probe deeper,

Say, “Help me to see the source of my loneliness.”

Now pull 3 cards. What do you see? What clarity did the cards bring? Did your perspective change? Is it a romantic partner that you need to ease your loneliness? Or is there something else? What block has stifled you?

Respond back. Pull a card that represents your response. This is a symbolic gesture that you’ve heard the Universe. Reiterate to the Universe what you’ve discovered by asking!

Maybe you choose the 3 of Cups because you realize now that you need to celebrate your life, appreciate your circle of friends, and enjoy being spontaneous.

Continue your dialogue. Poke and prod. Go deeper. Ask more questions. There is no limit to what you can ask. There are no stupid questions. The more you ask, the more you understand. Clarity is the essence of prayer.

Next you could ask, “What can I do to ease my loneliness?” or “How can I move forward now that I understand the source of my loneliness?”

As with a reading, the better the question, the more specific the question, the clearer the answer.

Dig to the roots of your prayer. Change = Shifting energy. You must understand the source of the “problem” before you can change it. I’m reminded of Rumpelstiltskin… if you know the true name of a thing you have power over it!

So what cards come up? What is your next step? Your situation should be clearer.

Next you can layout your path. This is the way you wish to move forward. The Universe does not require specific instructions. Layout your intended path with the cards… the Universe will workout the details. Ask yourself how you want the energy to flow? What feels good?

Place at least 3 cards down in a line. These are your stepping-stones. Lay them out, contemplating how they reflect the shift you are making. This is a visual representation of your shift. Take a photograph of these cards… refer back to them.

You can ask the Universe to respond to your “proposed” path. Asking, “Does this path align with my prayer?”

Trust yourself! Trust what feels good! You are having a Q&A with the Universe. You are engaging with your destiny! Own your destiny! Consciously manifest.

Do you feel empowered now? Does it feel different to be involved in your prayer? Do you enjoy this approach?

The Universe likes partnership. This approach helps you shift energy. No more dumping a load of request in the lap of the Divine. You are becoming active. Shifting energy is the key to affective prayer!!

You can utter a million beautiful words while knelling in the darkness at your bedside… but unless you know the heart of what you are asking… unless you are willing to make a change and take responsibility…  there isn’t much that can be done.

Curious to Dream

Here I am falling curious again. I’ve been pulling at a tiny thread to my dreams… and now it’s unraveling fast. I’ve always known that my dreams would sail if I practiced patience and positive thinking (which is f-ing difficult!). Starshine is elusive; you have to carry a certain feeling in your heart to catch it.

Waiting is deafening. The anticipation entangles you. You become fixed on the feeling of wanting… instead of placing your heart on the feeling of having. If you want to live that dream, you must carry the surreal feeling with you in everyday life.

This really is a matter of fact verses fiction. Many of us have convinced ourselves that dreams are ephemeral. That’s something you hear about in fairy stories… it will never happen to me. Talk about the antithesis to getting what you want! Dreams fall on those who are willing. You can’t catch raindrops, if you wont stick your tongue out.

Try living the dream before it’s even made an appearance.

There is this painful dichotomy that exist between what we want and what we need. We tell ourselves lies that we have to live in the real world, and relegate what we love to the realm of hobbies. Bullshit! You can do whatever you want. You can have your cake and eat it too… if you dare to do so!

Why not make your art your life, isn’t that the most trustworthy way to live?

So many of us believe that you have to be good little boys and girls… give your 40 hours a week to the cubicle gods, and then have fun on the weekends. We have to do what’s right… get college educations, wear suites and ties, carry brief cases. If not, then we’ll just be a bunch of starving artists… living on moonbeams and air!

This whole mindset just makes my skin crawl. We have to banish this nonsense. You have to rage against the “norms”. Fight your negative upbringing. Burn the hell out of those “tapes” that bog you down. If you want to make a change, live your dreams, and really be happy…do it!

Wake up everyday and just know that you are/will do what you love!

Try it out. See where it takes you. The magic is there, just waiting to be called on!

Love Letter: Valentines’ Day Tips for Love

Dear Gypsies,

I know everyone’s looking for love! People ask about it all the time in readings, “When will I get married?”, “Where’s mr/mrs. Right”, “Will I ever date again?”, etc. And I totally understand, we all want to feel loved, and connected. Everyone want’s to share there life with someone, their hopes and dreams, their fears. It’s natural to want a companion, someone to partner. So what’s the secret?

Well, I don’t know the secret to having the relationship of your dreams, but I do have some tips that everyone can benefit from.

3 Ways to Bring Love Into Your Life:

1. Love yourself! Oh how cliche, but it’s true. You have to invest time and energy into yourself. You need to be your own best friend, explore your interest and hobbies, express your hopes and fears to yourself. And dream out loud. Who’s to say you can’t have a nice evening alone, or have a fabulous dinner by yourself? I love going out alone… dinner and a good book, or my journal! It’s all about perspective. If you can’t be open with yourself, you wont be open with anyone else!

2. Relationships do not fill holes! So many people want to find love so they can fill a hole inside of them. They have this ache, this loneliness, this sense of grieving for something they don’t have. But guess what? Relationships aren’t meant to fix you, they are meant to compliment you. If you can’t shine bright on your own, then you’ll be nothing more than a dull glow in a relationship. Begin a relationship as a way to enhance your vibrance, your balance, and your independence.

3. Step outside of your comfort zone! This sounds simple, right? This is the misstep of most people seeking love. A potential relationship could hit you on the head, but if you aren’t stepping out of your “zone” and opening up to new experiences… you’ll miss it! And, there are those that think a new relationship should just knock on the front door! It’s not gonna happen! You have to put in the effort. The Universe partners with you when you make a shift in energy… but you can’t have change, if you’re not willing to change. Love comes to those who are adventurous. That doesn’t mean you need to hunt love down, it means that you need to be open to new scenery, new people, new experiences. Be spontaneous. You never know when you’ll fall in love!

Happy Valenties day… I hope it’s filled with magic. Remember to tell someone you love them!

Ooh, PS, light a fresh red candle for romantic love and make your wishes of a future mate. Light a fresh pink candle for general love. This will fill the air with good energy!

With Love,

Shaheen

Our True Nature (The Seeds We Sew)

Your spirit is a precious, burnings star that fell from heaven. As you fell down the tunnel to wonderland, a gauzy veil spun around your soul, covering the light of your divine nature, keeping it hidden from the eyes of the world. It is your mission on this journey to lift the veil so that your light and beauty can be seen.

Your spirit emanates light, like a strange jewel from which you draw your talents, abilities and purpose. As the veil grows thicker it becomes a darkness that numbs and silences your divinity, cutting you off from your potential. But the truth remains that you are a divine architect. You are a partner to the Universe, and it is in your true nature to express and create through love and compassion.

The key to divine expression is intention. Intention weaves and changes the fabric of everything in its path. Intention is the mother of manifestation; so she bears from her fertile womb every seed placed within. When you befriend intention then you can essentially birth what you desire, this is the art of manifestation.

Your thoughts, actions and ideas are the energy that feed the Universe, literally creating everything you see around you right now. It can be difficult to see beyond the dark, thick, sluggish veil covering your potential. It distorts whatever you are sending out. Because of these distortions your intentions are altered allowing the unfavorable to grow like thorny brambles in your life.

The Universe is fertile and rich with the nutrients necessary to grow whatever seeds/intentions you wish to plant. The Universe cannot discern what you plant here because her one and only purpose is to birth the seeds that you have sewn, and manifest the garden of your desires. Now you know that your garden is the accumulations of all the thoughts, ideas, fears and dreams that you have planted.

If you aren’t careful in tending and pruning your garden, pests begin growing, sneaky little things that creep into the calm fields of lavender and lilies. These thorny, little weeds represent of your lack of attention to what is going on around you. Not all things within your garden are in your control; some things just appear like negative relationships you just need to break free from. You cannot change everything, but you can changer your reaction. Isn’t a weed just a flower that someone doesn’t like?

The veil that you see life through is actually the ego, and the ego sees everything as limiting. Your garden, then, has limited beauty. It becomes infested with stickers and brambles that bite your fingertips when you eventually try to pull them. Though there are times when a little seed of light sprout among the weeds, but their life is quickly choked out by fear and insecurity. As the ego believes, there’s never enough. Not for me, not for you.

Our souls are sparkling, bright-eyed children and the veil makes the world dark and gray, which evokes insecurity and fear because “bad things live in the darkness”. Through embracing the powers of your divine nature you pull away this veil and are able to be in the present moment. One energy cannot vibrate amongst the other, easily. The ideals of the ego such as anger, depression, sadness, hatred, etc, sustain the limited belief of separation, which in turn breeds more fear.

It could be said that there are no mirrors in heaven, so we come to earth to see the true nature of our spirit. We come here to find our selves within our own light, being nudged by the people, places and experiences we have. The truth is that the veil is never fully lost as long as you are incarnated. It is the anchor of your soul.

In this amazing, incarnate experience, you have to live on the edge of two worlds, like faeries on the edge of dreamland. You have to walk the middle ground between the material and the spiritual; a balancing act between light and dark. If you tread the middle ground you learn to be in the present moment.

Through learning to be in balance with ego and spirit you can begin manifesting consciously. On your spiritual journey you are never seeking to lose your identity or shadow, only to embrace it, understand it, truly befriend it. It is the great yin and yang. This is the foundation of enlightenment.

Fear not the experiences you have in life, embrace them with open arms. Let your experiences open your mind and heart and help you to expand. If you want to change your life, you must change your thoughts. There is a micro world inside of you, and it reflects into the world around you. Remember your garden is yours alone… tend it, care for it, look after it and you will have a beautiful work of art.

Also know that we are all interconnected. You may wish to exclude others from your life, but again this is a balancing act. You have one plot on the face of a whole, so essentially your ground is the ground of another. The interaction between you and the people in your life is just as essential, if not more essential, than all the experiences you’ve had.

As you tend your garden, be mindful of the gardens around you. You don’t want to throw your dirty work into someone else’s masterpiece. We must help each other maintain this beauty. Hopefully a sense of comradery forms, creating peace, which shines out into the world. Maybe one day we will all cast of our veils and melt into one bright and vibrant sun.

my manifestation mandala

Though this is not a Mandala in the traditional sense, it is a collage of images that spark and inspire me to push energy into my dreams. The circle is a sacred symbol of focus and divinity. It represents the spark of life in the beginning, the first bit of light from the universe unfolded from. It represents the womb of creation. The vortex to the higher realms. And the everlasting life of the spirit… which like a ring never ends.

let us pray

Many people find prayer as comforting and intimate way to connect with the source and often times when people feel lost, desperate and at their wits end they will turn to prayer. I pray daily because it allows me to connect to the Universe as well as my inner place of wisdom. Prayer is like meditation; it’s a time to be still.

I have talked to many people who view prayer as a way of pleading with God or the creator to change something unfortunate in their lives or to allow them to have something that they feel is missing. This approach to prayer is unsettling to me because it takes the control out of your hands and puts it into the hands of someone/something else. Prayer is meant to empower us.

I once had a friend tell me that the word “hope” is viewed by the Buddhist as a negative word because it implies that something might not happen. I found that to be a fascinating concept because I saw that many people pray because they hope it will create a change. I think that prayer is much more powerful when you intend what you’re praying for. Don’t ask that something happen, intend that it will happen, pull it into reality.

When you sit down to have a conversation with the Universe, don’t desperately throw your hands up and beg for mercy… this is your life and your experience and the Universe can only do what you ask it, so you must be firm and clear in your asking! The key is to realize that you are the one in control, you manifest your reality, you have the ability to shape and form the architecture of it. You are not a victim to the whims of some being in the sky…

I have found that prayer is much more powerful as a form of giving thanks to the universe for what you have already begun to consciously manifest. You put the intention out there, asking for the Universe to partner with you to bring in into reality and then you give a prayer of thanks for that partnership. Ask that the Universe help this intention manifest in the best way possible, as the Universe has a vantage point… the bigger picture is much more clear to Spirit.

Take this approach with your daily prayer with at least one issue and see what happens. For example: Instead of praying, “God I ask for you to bring money and security into my life, so that I can feel safe and protected. Please help me in my time of need.” Approach it as an affirmation, saying it in the now, “I have financial security, I am safe and protected by the Universe. I have everything I want and need, when I want and need it.” …then say a prayer of thanks because when you take the lead the Universe can do nothing but follow!

Much love,

Shaheen

understanding energetic cords

Energetic cords are created from attachments that we make to people, places, things and ideas. Negative energetic cords are often the source of our depleted energy, fatigue, depression and anxiety… and they can keep us from manifesting our goals, dreams and desires.

so and so always gets what they want, but I never do

You must begin to create a space in your life for the things you desire. As you work to pull them into your life you have to not only make the shift in mindset, but you have to make the shift in routine. We are creatures of habit and being so we may say we want new love for example in our lives, but instead of making time to go out to meet new people we continue to lock ourselves away at home because we are too “busy” to go out.

There is a powerful principle that you must understand about energy, when something is moved in time and space, and then something must be put in its place. That is the key to manifestation. If you want prosperity in your life, then you must move something out of your life to make room for that energy. It can be as simple as changing the thoughts you have about prosperity in order to attract more. But it may also mean that you have to learn to live within your means, learn to manage your money better or learn to be pickier with whom you help out.

When I am reading for people I remind them that a session is a way for them to see if what they are manifesting lines up with their goals, dreams and desires…. Often times we choke the life from all the things we want because of our fears and insecurities. Know that in order to get what you want, in order to manifest consciously you have to initially make some sort of change…. That is the first step.

Lets walk through the process so that you can see it more clearly.

What do you want right now in your life?

Ask yourself this simple question and really go deep into it. If you respond, “I want my soul mate!” then take that one step further… are you really seeking mr./miss. Right or are you looking for a partnership that fulfills you and uplifts you. Are you looking for a relationship that will allow you to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually? Do you want someone to support and take care of you? Or maybe you just want a family? Or to feel protected. You have to know what you really want before you can get it, don’t just give yourself some generic, filler answer. Contemplate it more.

Why don’t you have what you want? What is holding you back or keeping you from it?

This is a loaded question and many answers may be given… but I want you to put them all out there on the table. Put all your fears and insecurities out there in the open. Have you not found love because your mother was in bad relationships? Or do you feel like no one understands you? Or do you think that you aren’t attractive enough? Or maybe you feel like you are too old? These are all mental blocks. You are creating obstacles for yourself when you don’t really need them. Now that you have identified why you don’t feel good enough to have it you can change that thought pattern.

What are you afraid to give up? What is taking your time and energy from this goal?

Often times people will say they want something and then the create excuses for themselves…. And these excuses are supported by what we call our “responsibilities”. So you say you want a man in your life, but you haven’t found one yet because “no one ever gets you”… BUT you keep hiding behind the excuse that you have to work too much instead of going out to meet new people. You haven’t even created an opportunity to find someone.

I had a teacher in middle school that use to say to us, “If you always do, what you’ve always done, then you will always get, what you’ve always got.” Its kind of a cheesy saying, but it has profound wisdom. You cannot have anything new come out of static. Creation and manifestation come from movement and change… that is the heart of desire.

How can you give up your fear and embrace the change?

So you realize now that you are making excuses for yourself for not having what you want, that you are hiding behind the past and the pain. That’s understandable… we all do it. Now you have realized what it is that you truly want and you are no longer going to live in a bubble seeing it from the outside and silently longing for it… you are going to make an opportunity.

Give up your fear by making a commitment to something new. So you worry about work for 2 hours after you’ve gotten home, not even doing anything productive, just worrying and ranting and checking list and obsessing…. BUT you want to meet that love of your life. So now you need to remove that fear and replace it with something!!

You said that you couldn’t find love because no one ever gets you, but maybe you’ve been hanging out at the wrong places. Bars might not be your scene, but maybe yoga class is. Trade your daily commitment to worrying about work and take a yoga class… Mr./Miss. Right may just be there waiting for someone to take the free mat next to them.

The mind is a machine. You tell it something and it projects it outward into the Universe, attracting back to you something of like vibration.

See how easy it is to begin consciously manifesting. You will never get anything you want in life if you are not aware of what you are telling the universe to give you. Remember that you and you alone are in control of your life. You may not be able to change every little nuance… but you can change your reaction to it and that’s the true power.

Identify what you want, find out why you believe you don’t have it, recognize your excuses for not going after it, make a choice to swap the old out for the new and then reel it in!! Remember to be patient, do not rush the right opportunity to come, when you become impatient you are telling the Universe that you are doubting what you want. Be firm and grounded in your desire.
