Five Keys to Empowering Yourself with Love

I have been contemplating this idea of self-love more. It’s so simple, and yet so hard to attain. Really being able to look yourself in the eye, and say… I love you. I love you, your flaws, your perfections, your failures, and your victories. It can be so difficult to really see yourself in all those phases, and still really appreciate who, and what you are.

I know I struggle with this. I know you struggle with it. We all do. It’s something that we feel at one time or another. Some of us daily. Some of us feel the struggle of self-love in waves. There are things that help make self-love easier, and other things will spiral it out of control and turn all our pain into very real monsters.

Here are 5 keys to help you on your journey to connecting and honoring yourself more!

Key Number One: Stay Committed to Yourself.

Regardless of how low you feel, or how lost you may seem; your commitment to yourself will be the lantern in the darkness. The simple willingness to uphold yourself, to listen to yourself, to do what is best for yourself… will put you in the right situations!

It isn’t always easy to stay committed to yourself. Sometimes you will let down your guard, casting yourself into something that you know wont make you feel better. But you have to try don’t you? Because you are brave and strong… and that’s how you learn!

Just stay strong! Hang on with all your might.

Key Number Two: Allow Yourself to Be Dark

The darkness is part of you. Don’t hide from your shadow, don’t run from it, and don’t be afraid of it. It isn’t your enemy. It is your friend. Your shadow allows you to learn so much about who you are, what you’re made of and how much you can, and will take!

Whenever you feel dark, just dance! Dance to whatever rhythm you feel. Whatever song you hear playing. Just close your eyes and let go to the beat of it all!

That is one of the best ways to learn to love yourself. If you trust yourself to dance you will feel sexier, stronger, more vibrant. You will seduce the dark! 

Key Number Three: Learn to Say No

If you don’t like it… don’t do it! Do not feel responsible for anyone else if it isn’t for your best wellbeing. We spend so much time saying yes to things that we don’t really want to do. We feel guilted into living life a certain way.

I always ask myself: does this feed my spirit, or does it defeat my spirit?

If it doesn’t feed your spirit then you should just move on to the next thing! Don’t get stuck in the mindset that if you say no, you will miss out on something. You don’t miss out on opportunities that are good for you, by saying no to things that feel wrong.

In this big, beautiful Universe… all you have to do to get what you want and need is be you, love you, and smile!

Key Number Four: Daily Life Can Be Exciting

Every single day can be awesome. It can be filled with great things. Don’t wait your whole life for the right person, the right place, the right time… do it now. Live it now. Don’t only do what you love when everything else is “taken care of”. Don’t live your life for vacation, retirement, or the weekends.

This moment right now is perfect! You are beautiful enough to shine right now. So go out there and say what you need to say. Start planting the seeds of your dreams. And water them with lots of love. Because the truth is… you have time to love yourself!

Each moment you spend on anything… you should first take a second to love yourself. It’s easy to forget. But it’s a powerful affirmation, and catalyst of change.

Key Number Five: Self-Love is Self-Healing

You may not always feel strong. You may feel like you are losing a battle with something… it creeps into us now and again! You may not have the energy to do what you want, or what you need. But find just a little, tiny space to be good to yourself.

Because when you are good to yourself… you will also begin to heal yourself. You will heal yourself of all the pain, the upset, the damage, the loss… all the things that make you feel fragmented will begin to heal.

Some things will take longer than others. But it is all rooted in your belief. And your commitment to yourself… remember that!

It’s February… Love is in the Air!

Love is something that comes up so often in my sessions, and even in my personal life with friends and family. There is this constant conversation happening among people about how to love, when to love, where to find love, how to keep love, and on and on it goes. It’s all pretty power, pretty beautiful, and some times heavy!

Something that is usually left out of the conversation is self-love. I know… crazy right! We want love from other people, we want to give love to other people… but we struggle to love ourselves. But when you begin to look at self-love, you will find a pivotal point of power. 

What does that mean?

Well, when you want something in your life (like love, acceptance and romance) you have to also practice those things. And the best way to do that is to cultivate a space in your own life for you to give to yourself.

You see, self-love is not selfish it is actually the opposite. When you practice self-love you are filling yourself up with vibrant, beautiful energy, and you are planting a seed of intention, to not only give love, but to receive love, to feel love, and to live in love. That seed of intention will take root, sprout and blossom into the world, creating a powerful space for you to share the sweet nectar of love with others.

Isn’t it amazing how simple that is? By loving yourself, you begin to thrive… growing into an empowered person. Growing into an authentic person. And by simply being you, in a state of love (our natural state), you can give unconditional love to everyone else.

Because without self-love you have no acceptance, and without acceptance of yourself you begin to have limits, and with limits comes your personal edge… and that edge will be tested so many times by people and situations in your life. If you make self-love one of your truths, then nothing can shake you when your edge creeps up to challenge you!

Here are a few affirmative questions to ask yourself throughout the month!

It would be powerful to journal with these questions, or create affirmations from them.

  1. What self-loving act do you do every day?
  2. Stand in front of the mirror. What do you love most about your face? Name as many as you wish.
  3. What food when you eat it feels like an act of self-love?

Realign

We are moving into the second month of the New Year, and we are being pushed through doorways and into new territory to explore! This is a powerful time to make a new path for yourself, and link into something that strengthens your intentions for the 2015!

As you move into the unknown create a strong intention for yourself, to affirm your goals, and center your energy. Don’t give your power away to fears and limiting ideas. Use chaos as a creative force, rather than an enemy. Let go of the need to be in control of things, dance in the dark. Trust your intuition, and know that the Universe will respond.

There is something enlightening about letting go of the need for control of our external lives. Rather, focus on the intention of your words, thoughts, ideas, and beliefs. Let your thoughts and actions speak for you. Though it is true you cannot change your physical circumstance; you can change your reaction to the thing around you. You are the creator of your reality.

Our thoughts, dreams and wishes are the way we tell the Universe what we want. Never forget that whatever you give your focus to is a request sent to the Universe… do you want to ask for negative, or positive things? Be aware of this.

Take 10 minutes a day to become conscious of the energy you are building and directing. Hold in your spiritual center a positive feeling, idea or goal; be clear with your intention. You will be amazed at how many beautiful things will grow and bloom in your life if you do this daily!

How to Manifest with Candles

Fire has magic and an intensity that is unexplainable. We are fascinated by the glow of a candle, a campfire or a distant star burning brightly in the sky. Watching a candle flame is meditative, you see it dance gracefully around the wick, it breathes with life and power. The soft crackle of a campfire is soothing and its glow penetrates deep to our core.

Fire is healing in many ways, yet it can be devastating and destructive, it has a subtle warning that hisses from within; it can be your comfort and teacher, as well as your destroyer.

Fire has been a source of magic and ritual in many cultures and religions, it has been the keeper of life in myths, the symbol of gods, it has been consulted to divine the future. Fire is a source of life as it warms the cold nights of winter and cooks our food to ease our hunger. The fire of the sun allows us to grow food for eating and flowers for medicines and beauty. It truly is the make up of our spirit.

I find myself lighting candles nightly because they bring so much calm and comfort into my life. I light them with intentions and payers; I visualize my desires being pulled into my life by their gentle glow, like curious moths. When I am doing a reading or needing to feel inspired I will light a candle because I know that benevolent spirits are attracted to their glow. There is a natural energy that is emitted from a candle flame that isn’t produced by artificial light.

If you feel like you need a little something extra in your life light a candle and say a prayer, ask for something special as you light it. Write out a little poem or a few little “request” and tuck them underneath the base of a candle. If you are missing someone, who is living or passed carve their name into the side of the soft wax and light the candle, speaking your feelings to the flame knowing that it will be heard in their heart and soul.

The spirits of those who have passed do not see artificial light, they only see natural light… so they will see the soft glow of a candle.

Whenever I travel I love to light candles at the local churches because I feel like each one has a special energy that lives within its walls. I remember lighting candles in London, Mexico, New York City, and many other places… each one had a special prayer with a special energy guiding it swiftly to the Universe. Use this magic to bring a little light into your life.

Find a special candle that has a sweet scent and as it burns allow yourself to be lulled into a meditative state. Make it a mental cue that its time to relax when you light this particular candle. Firelight will sooth you and calm you… it will allow you to access your own inner wisdom.

Here is another Practice I love: Write all the things that I want to release from my life on pieces of paper and then I burn them in the flame of a new white, or black candle to release them from my life. This a powerful practice that I suggest all of you tries.

Always respect fire, as it is a powerful and uncontrollable element. Fire can have a mind of its own so watch it, respect it and thank it.

Whenever you are lighting a candle with intention see how the flame dances, and the wax melts. Does it strand tall and straight, or poke around, bobbing back and forth, or does it waver and struggle to burn bright? Does the wax form shapes, letters, or distinguishable images? This can all be symbolic of the energy you are sending to your intention.

If you want to take it another step further you can burn candles based off of their color. All colors hold powerful energy and the psychology of colors is something that has been explored for some time. Trust your own intuitive feeling about colors, what do you think they represent? If you see white as the color of peace and purity then use that if you are trying to draw those energies into your life. If you see red as passion then light red candles to bring a little spark back into your love life. You can find many books and lists of colors if you are interested in learning the long-standing symbolism associated with them.

Find time in the New Year to consciously manifest and to pull what you want into your life. Try this simple exercise and see what happens, I bet that powerful results will follow if you trust it.

Here is a list of a few meanings of colors that I have created from personal use:

White: Purity, divinity, light, peace, healing, spirit guides and the 7th (crown) chakra.

Black: Mystery, the universe, protection, wisdom, the feminine aspects of the divine, change, winter and spirit communication.

Red: passion, romance, sexuality, power, summer, anger, lust, creativity and the 1st (root) chakra.

Blue: Communication, healing, animals, clarity, the angels, harmony/serenity, and the 5th (throat) chakra.

Green: Nature, spring, prosperity, fairies, healing, Mother Earth/goddess, and the 4th (heart) chakra.

Yellow: Confusion, empathy and telepathy, earth spirits/energy, the sun, awakening, renewal, power and the 3rd (solar plexus) chakra.

Purple: psychic abilities, awareness, magic, higher power, the celestial bodies, sensitivity, understanding, higher education, and the 6th (third eye) chakra.

Orange: Work, career, health, nutrition, abundance, and the 2nd (sacral) chakra.

Pink: love, friendship, healing, understanding, forgiveness, matters of the heart and the 4th (heart) chakra.

Brown: Stability, hearth and home, finances, work problems, grounding and letting go.

Gray: protection, invisibility, fear, compromise and neutralizing.

This is my personal list and associates, feel free to add or take away from whatever I have listed here.

Live Intentionally: Happy New Year 2015

The New Year is coming… be cheerful and celebrate! The Year is coming to an end, and as you say goodbye to 2014 let yourself discard old, worn-out energies, habits, and feelings. With the New Year you will invite a fresh perspective, and the motivation to begin again.

Transition into the New Year free of all negative energetic cords. Energetic cords are the links that have been created between you, and another person, place thing, or idea. This link creates a two-way line of energy allowing you to feed-off of, or giveaway your energy… and vice versa.

If these energetic cords are attached to something negative… you will feel drained, apathetic, depressed, and stagnant.

Let yourself have time for introspection to evaluate your energetic cords, and investments. Go on a journey to find what you are giving your energy to. What things have you invested in over the past year? Have your investments yielded positive results? Does your spirit feel nourished?

Take at least 15 mins to a half hour of time to meditate. Contemplate where your energy has been going through the last year. And then shift yourself into where you would like to invest that energy in 2015. What seed would you like to sew?

Get to the heart of these issues and call back you energy… so that you can consciously manifest what you want out of life!

As you make your list of New Years Resolutions, or the seeds you will sew, be very intent. Put your energy into things that really make you feel whole, authentic, and alive. Let your resolutions be bigger than just wishful things to muse on for the upcoming year… empower them as intentions, affirmations!

As you phrase your New Years “Intentions”, place them in the present because when you affirm something you want it to feel as real as possible. You want gear your mind to think as though the good is already taking place! Affirm like it is happening now! 

Example: “I am organized, rested and optimistic.”

And never use the word “no” because no is completely canceled out by the subconscious mind.

So to affirm, “I have no issues.” Would really be “I have issues.”

Happy Thanksgiving: #RantGratitude

Hi Beautiful People!

The last few days have been absolutely magical. So many wonderful things have begun to come into being. I keep experiencing synchronicities right and left, and I feel so in alignment with the Universe. When things “click” like this it is surreal! 

I had to stop for a moment and just take in all the good energy. While everything is expansive and in motion I have to be still. Grounded in this moment. Present in this experience. Being completely appreciative of everything that is happening around me. 

Honestly… I feel drunk with gratitude! And really gratitude is the foundation of consciously manifesting. Gratitude is the heart of the law of attraction. If you aren’t grateful for what you’ve received in your life, then you’ve signaled to the Universe that you aren’t aware of the miracles in front of you.

It is so easy to get caught up in daily life. Lost in our heads, our jobs, or responsibilities. The chaos takes over. But gratitude doesn’t need big bells and whistles. Just a simple nod of thanks. A quiet smile. A little dance.

I decided I need to give myself space to be grateful daily. So I am challenging myself to a list of things I am grateful for each week.

The Power of Purging

Embrace the wisdom of letting go. It is time to release heavy attachments that deplete you and bleed away your joy. So often we hold onto things much longer than we need to. When you have outgrown something release it. When you hold on to things you keep blessings and gifts at bay. 

Evaluate the people, objects, feelings, beliefs and ideas you are holding onto. Have you outgrown any? What is choking the life from your dreams, wishes and goals?

Allow the black holes in your life to come into your awareness… what is sucking up, absorbing and consuming your energy, vitality, and enthusiasm? Trust your intuition. Usually the fist thing that comes to mind is the right thing. Begin your purging there!

Allow this message to settle in! Especially with the retrograde in force… we are looking toward the old, and wrapping things up. Mend all holes. Allow the soft light of the Divine to wrap around you, and wash away the negative and bring about healing.

Now is the perfect time to check in. See where you are, and where you are going. An intuitive reading, or a Reiki session is great ways to really evaluate where you are and create a path toward your wellbeing.

Aligning Your Thoughts

ShaheenTNOStarAre you feeling stifled? Unable to move forward with goals, plans, and dreams? Take some time for stillness! 

When you put your focus on things that you cannot control, you begin to deplete your energy. This creates a cycle of pulling toward you, and manifesting exactly what you DON’T want! Your thoughts are a powerful magnet, pulling into your life whatever you choose to focus on!

Take note throughout your day of the quality of your thoughts. Track where your mind goes. What are you focusing on? What are you giving your energy to? What mental dialogue are you having with yourself? Write down your thoughts, evaluate them, and ask yourself if they are in alignment with the things you wish to manifest! 

How often do you have an opposing thought toward exactly what you are WANTING in your life? 

Begin with this list and start to become more mindful of the things that you tell yourself and put your mental energy into. Train yourself to think more positive and affirming thoughts. Whenever you have a negative thought, catch it, imagine a big red line crossing it out, and replace it with a positive thought.

Keeping Composure

We shift and create our own reality, telling our energetic story based on our thoughts, ideas, beliefs and fears. Sometimes we can’t always change the immediate situation. When it is particularly difficult, I remind myself that I am in control of my reaction to that experience.

I find that this bit of wisdom is most needed when we are in the middle of a change. We constantly ask the Universe for something new, whether it is in the area of love, money, health, family or spirituality… but when the change begins we start to feel as if we are falling a part. Chaos is the metaphorical goddess of change; bring with her the seed of something new.

There is no change without uncertainty. Remind yourself that manifesting and change go hand in hand, and that change by nature isn’t static. Learn to dance with change. Take Chaos by the hand and treat her to a slow dance or something a little more wild.

I want you to repeat daily:

“My life is shifting, growing and moving in the direction of my highest good. My mind and heart are open to the dance of change.”

Calling Dreams

 

Spiritual Message:

Stop telling yourself that there is no time for dreaming. I want you to remember that there is always something beautiful to be found, no matter how dark and dismal things may seem. You have to know that dreams can come alive in the dark.

If you have been working toward a goal or dreaming up some huge, crazy thing, then get ready because dreams are about to come true. It is your right to have everything you want. All the things that build you up, that make you feel whole, spiritual and vibrant are meant to be yours.

Do not deny yourself of your dreams!

Happiness is not somewhere in the distance. Respect your path and your spirit, and honor the wisdom that lives inside of you. When you embrace the inner callings of your soul, you open a treasure trove of possibilities.

What has been on your mind will now come into you life… so stop the worries! What you give your energy to is a request to the Universe to bring that vibration into your life. So bring only goodness in.

Begin to rejoice in the present moment as possibilities are in the process of becoming reality. Keep calling to your dreams and they will float softly to you. Now is the time and you have all the magic in the universe at your fingertips.

Affirm: “I can dream my biggest dreams, and I have the right to attain everyone of them. Each day I wake, a new dream is made reality…. And I am grateful for it!”
