Egg Cleansing for the Home

Spiritual cleansing, or “Limpia” with an egg is an old, and powerful form of spiritual cleansing. It is very popular in Latin folk-magic, but has its roots in many cultures. You can read more about self-cleansing with an egg, here!

Lets take this wonderful technique a step further and spiritually cleanse the home. Spiritually cleansing of the home is very important because your home is a reflection of your inner world, and as it becomes tainted by negative and lower level vibrations you become heavier and more lost in the fog. Take ownership of your space and make it sacred, as it should be!

To begin gather one large fresh egg. This egg should be free-range, and organic. It should be room temperature before you begin. Also gather a glass of fresh spring water, a sage smudge or sweet incense, and a white or pink candle.

Wash the egg in a mixture of salt water, and lemon juice. This ensures that the egg is not holding onto stray energies before the session.

Put yourself in a relaxed state. Make sure no one is in the home that will disturb you.

Hold the egg in your hand. Saying a prayer or affirmation of cleansing and peace. Begin at the entrance of the home, and waft the egg around each corner of the room, around the entrances, doorways and windows. Around any clutter, heavy furniture, and places that feel stagnant.

Move through the entire house, one room to the next. Continue to focus on your intention of cleansing the home. Ask for blessing and guidance from the Universe. And trust your intuition about where to go.

Make sure to focus on openings of any kind. Places that is cluttered, stagnant or dark, such as closets or cabinets. And any rooms that have a particularly heavy feeling, or some kind of history that you want to work through.

The egg is essentially a psychic vacuum that is picking up, and holding any unwanted energy present in the space.

When you are finished you can break the egg into the cup of water. Allowing the contents of the egg to settle. At this time it is good to go through each room with the sage smudge, or incense stick. Letting it waft into all the same places as the egg.

This will add an extra layer of cleansing. And will ensure the space is blessed with positive vibration.

Once I have done this I like to light a white or pink candle in the hearth, or center of the home, or in each room. This candle represents the light of the Universe, and blessings of love filling the space of the negativity that has been released. Allow the candle to safely burn down.

Another element I like to add to the process is placing a bouquet of fresh white flowers in each room.

Once the cleansing session is finished you can observer the yoke of the egg for signs of the energy that was removed from the space. Think of this like looking at clouds in the sky. What shapes have formed? How do they make you feel? What do they seem to represent.

To dispose of the egg after interpreting the yoke, dumb the contents into the toilet and flush. Or place into a running stream off of your property. If you haven’t broken the egg place in a paper bag in the trash off of your property.

Visit this article for more information about interpreting the yoke.

Do this process as often as you like. I suggest doing a home cleansing at least once a month, or ideally once a week. And whenever there is any kind of altercation, misfortune, or illness in the space.

Please, let me know if you have any other questions.

If you would like me to interpret the patterns formed by your egg. Please follow the steps, break the yoke into a cup of water and take several pictures. Make sure to photograph the results in good light, from a few different angles. You can email me the photos. Purchase your egg interpretation here.

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Limpia With An Egg

Many people have contacted me asking about egg cleansings. Sometimes referred to as, “Limpia”, which is Spanish meaning, “cleaning”.

This technique of spiritual cleansing using an egg is connected to many different cultures and traditions because the egg has long been regarded as symbol of life, the connotation being the it takes on energy. I have cherished this particular technique for many years because I have had so much personal success with it.

At one point my family had adopted a puppy that had been malnourished, and could not walk because her leg bones had grown faster than the ligaments. She was walking on her joints. I did this technique one night before bed, and the next morning her legs were fine and she began walking like normal! It was surreal.

When using the egg you are essential going through the person’s aura, and body, pinpointing specific areas if necessary, and allowing the eggs sponge like properties to absorb the energy. The egg traps the energy. The negativity transfers from you, to the egg.

Think about this when choosing where you buy your eggs… because even when they aren’t being used in a cleansing session, eggs can take on negative vibrations!

Self-cleansing To perform an egg cleansing on yourself there are two ways you can do it. Either in combination with a spiritual bath, or on it’s own.

  1. Start with a fresh egg. Wash the egg in a bath of salt water and lemon juice before you begin.
  2. Breathe deeply and relax. Say a prayer to whatever high power you wish. Ask for their assistance and blessing. Imagine the egg being touched by their presence.
  3. Hold the egg in your dominant hand and begin rubbing it over your body. You can either touch your body, or hold it a few inches above the surface.
  4. Begin at the head, working down to the eyes, the throat, the heart area, the shoulders, down the left (or right) arm and touching the palm.
  5. Switch hands here and run the egg down the right (or left) arm and touching the palm. Then switch back.
  6. Work the egg down the torso, to the navel, and the groin, down each leg, stopping at the feet and touching the soles.
  7. If you have a specific area that is in pain, or is affected, hold the egg there for a few minutes.
  8. Seal the aura with a protective oil such as bergamot, pine, sandalwood or vetiver. Dilute this in olive oil and rub over the body.
  9. Now, if you are NOT taking a cleansing bath. Dispose of the egg by breaking it in the toilet and flushing it. Then dump a cup of salt and lemon juice down the toilet. Or throw the egg into a running stream. Or near a tree off of the property.
  10. If you are taking a cleansing bath. Leave the egg in the tub while you soak. Allow it to absorb more stray energy as you relax and unwind.
  11. When you are finished with you cleansing bath, follow step 8 and 9.

Extra Tips

  • Hold the egg at the base of the head, where the skull and the spine meet. This is one of our receptive areas. Energy tends to enter here. This will help remove any strong attachments.
  • Think of the egg as you would a sage smudge and “sweep” through the aura. Some energy is like a parasite and this allows the egg to pull it out!
  • Sleep with an egg under your bed, either in a cup of water, or in a bowl of sand. The egg will absorb negative energy from your aura, and the room while you sleep. This can help with nightmares as well. Dispose of the egg every few days!
  • You can break the egg into a bowl of water after you’ve done the initial cleansing and look at the yoke. Make sure to let the egg yoke settle in the water. If you are skilled at this you can determine how the cleansing fared by the shapes that are formed. Much like tea leaf reading.
    • Bubbles and globs mean the energy was absorbed. This is typical.
    • Strings can mean that a more deliberate energy was pulled from the aura.
    • Black dots, or blood mean that something major was pulled from the aura. Or illness was removed. Repeat the process again.
    • If the egg cracks. Repeat the process, and focus on the area of the body where the egg cracked.
    • DO NOT GET STUCK ON THIS! All that matters is the act of rubbing the egg over your body and disposing of it…Do the technique again if you feel you need more results.

I hope these techniques offer something for your spiritual practice!

The Evolution of Oracles

The evolution of symbols, omens and oracles can be seen in the Tarot. Ancient people interpreted natural occurrences, building symbols upon them and creating layers of meaning. It began with watching the habits of animals, and their patterns, changes in weather, images found in clouds, or formed on reflective surface of water. These symbols evolved into inscribed bones, and stones, and lots… portable oracles. Which have become printed pieces of card stock.

Fortunate Leaves: Fourth Study

securedownload-1Bundled-up at my desk this evening I enjoyed a delicious cup of Earl Gray tea from a local vendor. My cup was in honor of Reena who wanted to know if she would be a successful Tarot card reader.

I cleared my mind and began to breathe the scent of Earl Gray deeply. It tantalized my senses. I intently repeated Reena’s question, asking the Universe to give guidance on her path as a Tarot reader.

Peeping into her cup to gain glimpses of insight, I was met by some wildly fascinating characters. Starting from the bottom my vision spiraled around looking over what appeared in black inky blobs against the contrasting white. One symbol led to the next, creating strands of meanings.

securedownloadIn the very bottom appeared a small key, next to a roosting hen. Though I often suggest looking at the most prominent symbols that form in the cup because they are the most important, the smaller ones added to the overall story of Reen’s question.

The key next to the roosting hen is an indicator to me that her skill as a Tarot reader has been with her for a while. She was introduced to the cards, or at least to the psychic world sometime ago, possibly when she was younger. I get the impression that she may have even inherited some psychic abilities from her mother.

Moving to the next symbols in the progression was a Chinese lucky dragon. He was in the bottom (past) of the cup, with a tail that trailed into the middle (present). Lucky dragons are signs of protection, power and success. I believe that Reena took a break from Tarot for a bit of time. Maybe this was by choice. But the dragon indicates that she is being guided to do readings, and by listening her intuition she will find success.

The lucky dragon is also the sign of spiritual guidance. Reena, have you felt drawn to take specific steps toward your Tarot practice? This is a go ahead from your guides to do what feels right. This is also an indicator that her ancestors are communicating with her in spirit.

Next we have the crayfish/lobster. He was tenaciously crawling from the past into the present further highlighting his message as a symbol of emergence. The lobster is a sure sign that there is a sense of awakening happening now. More psychic experiences are the result of meditation and contemplation.

The lobster is urging you, Reena, to stay spiritually protected. I sense a little fear about doing readings. Are you worried that by reading Tarot you will open up to something bigger, or dangerous? Keep putting up your white light. And, wear blue or burn blue candles while doing readings.

Lastly, we find a gong in the future portion of the cup. Next to the Gong appears a diamond (a symbols of success). The gong is a beautiful symbol because it represents success and power. But it also shows a strong connection to sound. I believe that Reena’s Tarot reading will benefit from her learning to trust her clairaudience (psychic hearing).

Many used the gong, as a way of spiritually cleansing people believed that the sound could expel demons. It was also believed the gong could help you communicate with ghost. I see this as a sign to spiritually cleanse yourself, and also to listen to your spirit guides and ancestors. You are clearly clairaudient, Reena! Especially seeing the gong plus the lucky dragon!

Reena, I think your cup definitely indicates the potential for you to be successful as a Tarot card reader. It also offers suggestions for how to gain the success you want! I think this year has a lot of exciting things in store for your practice 🙂

I would love to hear everyone’s feedback! What do you see in her cup? What message do you perceive?

Fortunate Leaves: Third Study-My Reading Regarding Denver

denver_readingOn my last night at home before flying to Denver I decided to read my leaves. I am moving here for four months. As always the gypsy in me is excited by the prospect of new places. Though I am anxious, I know I lead a colorful life full of magical things. Sometimes I have to close my eyes, take a deep breath and be thankful for all the precious adventures I’ve had!

The house settled, the night cloaked me in peace and I enjoyed a wonderful cup of tea. Possibilities seemed to bloom in the bottom of my old deco style teacup. There was an exciting story, a facet of my adventure waiting to be revealed.

My cup was filled with all sorts of goodies, and appropriately enough everything seemed to be about moving forward and moving into a new direction. Since I was curious about Denver, this cup reflected things to come. (Typically the cup will speak in a temporal status that reflects your question or topic.)

Moving clockwise from the handle there is a little procession of shapes that have formed. There is a cat that sits at the very edge of the cup. There is a sea turtle. Next to that is a pipe. And a rose appears as a lesser symbol.

The sea turtle stood out to me instantly. Floating effortlessly amongst the pearly white of the cup, he seems to be at peace… letting things go and allowing the Universe to take its hold. The sea turtle is a creature that knows patience and perseverance. I know that this appears as a sign that things are now coming into fruition, dreams are unfolding. It could also be speaking of my trip to Denver being a pilgrimage in some way.

The cat stands with his back turned from me, peering off into the distance. It makes me wonder if this isn’t my very own black cat, Ali. I would interpret the sign of a cat as a familiar, a spirit that surrounds you to help protect and guide. Whenever I see a black cat I know that the Universe is speaking to me… letting me know that there is something significant happening.

The pipe is an odd symbol to me. First, I think of the peace pipe. Maybe this is a suggestion to me to make my peace, to say what I need to say, to be in the process of letting go. An important conversion may be taking place soon, something that I need time to think about. That goes into my second thought, clouds of smoke, which could symbolize confusion.

The rose, though small, indicates to me that there is an offering coming to me. This could be romantic, which would make sense with the foresight I already have. I believe that some of this is already happening…maybe that is the reason the rose appears smaller than the other symbols.

What a fascinating cup. My interest has been piqued! I’m excited to see what unfolds. It seems as though an offer is coming with love, which I will need to contemplate and really think about. But there is a sense of ease, and perseverance. The results will be divinely guided… smiled upon by fate!
