The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Citrine the Path Opener

The idea of the Labyrinth has always fascinated me because it is a metaphor for life. There are many challenges we encounter; we look for the “right” path to follow. But if you stop and be still you realize that the only path you can follow is the one before you. You must keep moving forward to reach your highest potential.

That doesn’t mean there is a set destiny that you are locked into. Life is a Labyrinth. There are many turns, dead-ends and complications. Sometimes you are completely lost, and completely confused. The truth is you cannot make it to the end of the maze if you sit down where you stand. Stay in motion!

I have found stones to be very beneficial in helping to shift energy to spiritually cleanse and create change. As I meditate on the idea of the Labyrinth I see the stone Citrine. This is the “Path Opener” stone.

Citrine is a beautiful yellow and white stone with a crystalline structure that allows light to pass through its transparent surface. If you look closely amongst the cloudy areas of white and honey you will see glimmers of rainbow light. Citrine has a gentle feeling of empowerment and nourishment.

Citrine has been regarded as a stone of success and luck. It is said to attract prosperity to sales people and merchants. It shifts a perspective of lack, to one of abundance. Citrine has the energetic properties to bring about dreams.

Citrine never absorbs negative energy, so it never needs to be cleansed. It actually breaks up negative energy and helps to dissolve it in the atmosphere. Because it helps to nullify negative influence it increases your sense of personal power and allows you to have clarity of thoughts and emotions.

Mentally and emotionally citrine works to shift the thought patterns and feelings that are limiting your success. This stone simultaneously dissipates limiting vibrations, and pushes you upward to a more inspired state of being. This rise in vibration aligns you with Spirit and helps you live a more authentic life.

The source of energetic blocks doesn’t matter when working with this stone because it permeates the aura with a type of charge that releases blocks, and then realigns and magnetizes your energy field to attract positive influence. This is why it is called the Path Opener. It opens all the closed doors to success.

Citrine Labyrinth

You can use the influence of citrine to help you work through your own personal labyrinth. This will work to clear away blocks and obstacles on your path, and energetically push you into a place of success.

To begin gather a few citrine crystals, a variety of markers, and a large sheet of white paper.

Give yourself some alone time. Put yourself in a relaxed state. Ground and center.

Contemplate where you are in life. Look at the areas that feel blocked, stagnant or negative. As yourself where you need to “freshen” things up, and create some traction to align you with your goals.

If you’ve picked 3 areas then draw a triangle on the sheet of paper. If you’ve picked 5 then draw a five-point star. Draw a large circle at each point, and in the circle write a word or phrase to sum up the blocked area you are working on shifting.

Now take one crystal per block you are working on. Cup it in your hand and focus on your breathing. Let yourself move into the essence of the crystal. Place your thoughts and feelings into the crystal programming it to create change in the chosen area. This will align the crystal with your intention. Now place the crystal at that point.

Do this for each blocked area.

Leave the crystal grid in a safe place where it will not be disturbed. You can visit often and reaffirm your intention. Let the grid stay active until you see change in each area.

Other Ways to Use Citrine:

  1. Wear Citrine. You can access the influence of this powerful stone by simply wearing it. You can wear it as a pendent, or set in a piece of jewelry. Traditionally you would wear a stone as close to the body as possible. This can be done by tucking it into an undergarment, or creating a charm bag that can be worn under the clothes. Make sure to program your crystals by holding them and sending thought forms explaining what you need the crystal to do. This will activate it!
  2. Create an Elixir from Citrine. Citrine is a type of quartz, which makes it safe to use as an elixir. You can infuse spring water with the properties of citrine by adding a few citrine crystals to a fresh jar and placing it in sunlight for a few hours. This can be added to bath water to create a spiritual bath to infuse your aura, or you can drink the mixture alone or add it to tea, etc. Either way the water will yield the results of the stone. I find this method to be very effective.
  3. Place Citrine in a Purse. Traditionally citrine would be placed in a purse, or any place you would keep money. You can add a few crystals to your cash register. This will help keep the vibration of your money clear, and allow you to multiply by magnifying your intention of prosperity.

As with all energy work… the power is in the intention! Be ready for change so that the crystals can begin helping you attract the life you want.

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Feeding the Hungary Ghost

Rice is a simple form of spiritual cleansing used in a similar way to sea salt. This is what I call a “psychic vacuum” because it draws out, and absorbs negative energies. Sometimes people will combine (white) rice and sea salt for spiritual cleansing rituals, especially in Feng Shui traditions.

The use of rice for spiritual cleansing is rooted in the Ghost Culture of China, and Japan.

There is an old Buddhist belief that there are hungry ghost roaming the earth seeking food, and liberation from pain. These ghost are the shadows of the dead who in life were greedy, evil and unsavory. Upon their death they are cursed with very large stomachs that are never full, and tiny mouths only big enough for one grain of rice to pass through at a time.

The Chinese Ghost Festival is an annual celebration in honor of the dead. According to, ChinaCulture.org, “The Chinese Ghost Festival is also called “Half July” (Lunar). It is a popular occasion celebrated throughout China on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month”. This is the time of year when these hungry ghost roam freely looking for sustenance. People honor them with offerings of Rice to keep them at bay, and stop them from causing misfortune.

Feeding the Hungary Ghost is an ancient ritual for appeasing the roaming spirits of the land, and in-turn protecting the home, and those within from their negativity. This is an offering for the ancestors, and a protective barrier for the home.

To perform the ritual of Feeding the Hungary Ghost gather a bowl of white rice. Say a prayer of thanks for those who have passed on, over the bowl. Then with the bowl of rice, walk the parameter of your home, laying a circle of rice around the foundation. A small amount of rice will do!

Halloween is the traditional time to honor the dead, and our ancestors. Perform the ritual of Feeding the Hungary Ghost during Halloween to observe this practice. This will keep your home safe from negative energy, as the veil between worlds grows thinner. You can even leave a bowl of rice by the front door, or on grave stones to honor the dead.

Here are a few more ways to use Rice for Spiritual Cleansing:

  • Place a bowl of rice, and sea salt in each window of your home. This will serve as a protective barrier absorbing and disempowering negative energy that comes in your home… including ghost, and stray entities.
  • Fill a bowl, or plate with rice (any kind will do). Place crystals, jewelry, Tarot decks, and other objects on the rice to absorb negative energy, and thoroughly cleanse them. Discard after two or 3 uses.
  • Place uncooked rice in a muslin sachet, and tie tightly shut. Place this in your bath water, along with some lemongrass essential oil. Soak in the tub for 15-20 minutes. Do not wash with soap, or any body products this is strictly for spiritual cleansing. Dispose after each bath.
  • Make a circle of salt around the base of any object, or place to create a protective barrier… as described above in the ritual of the Hungary Ghost.
  • Infuse white rice with camphor essential oil by placing a few drops on uncooked rice, and tossing it about to coat each grain. Then place handfuls of the rice in sachets, or bowls around the home as a protective amulet. You can even leave them in the car, or on your person.

Happy Halloween!

How to Distinguish Between Ghost, Spirits, and Other Types of Hauntings

This is the time of year when people notice invisible things tugging at their psyche. Because the boundary between plains has become thinner it makes it easier for things to be detected, and to interact with them. This brings up questions about ghost, haunting and spirit activity.

People tend to use the word spirit and ghost interchangeable, though they really aren’t the same thing. They are similar… both being disembodied, but they exist in very different places.

Ghosts:

A ghost is the spirit of a person who has passed on, but hasn’t moved on. For some reason they are “stuck” in the lower levels. Usually stemming from greed, guilt, pain, or a sudden death. Something has made them cling to the physical world, and not accept that they are meant to move on into the healing light of the Divine.

The presence of a ghost is actually sad to experience because they basically exist in a twilight space. We perceive them as shadows, kind of looming, creepy and intangible. They actually experience us in much the same way, perceiving us as strangers in their “world”.

Because a ghost is fixated on something, they tend to be very one-dimensional which comes across as angry, aloof or uninterested. But really they are just confused and trying to figure out what they are doing there. Though some ghost can become more aware of their surroundings. A ghost who has become aware of their own “power” become extremely attached, and combative.

Spirits:

A spirit on the other hand is someone who has passed, crossed the great dived, and now lives peacefully in the upper layers… to put it simply they are in Heaven. These beings are completely aware of who they are, where they have come from, and where they are currently. When they passed, they accepted the transition and walked peacefully through the tunnel to the Other Side.

When a person transitions to the Other Side, and becomes a “spirit” they have complete awareness. Moving freely between levels, they are not stuck, bound or attached… rather they are able to communicate with us, visit us, and send us healing and messages. And even give us proof of their survival and life after death.

After a loved one has transitioned to the Other Side, they will usually visit you in one way or another, to let you know they have made it safely. This will happen in a variety of ways. Either through dreams, or signs, or even coincidences.

Screen Shot 2014-10-29 at 10.42.49 PM

Ghost and Spirits always bring up questions about Haunting. Everyone has heard of a haunted house or building in their town, or encounter what they thought to be a ghost at some point. Even for the complete non-believers the thought has crossed their mind! The truth is… most Hauntings are not a Ghost, or a Spirit.

The average Haunting is an Imprint. An imprint is the residual energy left over from a traumatic event that took place within a space, or the psychic impression left behind from high energy, or route people.

For example: if a person lived in a house for 30 years, and always practiced singing in the living room, you may experience some phantom singing in that same space. There is no ghost haunting the space, it is just the strong psychic impression left behind from the route… the event is basically on repeat.

Most hauntings tend to be this kind of energetic loop that continues to happen. The energy that is left behind is a cycle that continuously plays through, but it does NOT interact with people. If you are experiencing an imprint it will not interact with you. Interaction is a sign of a ghost.

Though some imprints can become so elaborate, and dramatic that it becomes a whole light show of events. Careful investigation can help to clarify the situation. This is where spiritual cleansing becomes so important in a space.

In some cases you will actually experience something that is neither a Ghost, Spirit, or an Imprint. Sometimes you will encounter something that seems to be interactive, evolving and intelligent called, Astral Thought Forms.

Astral Thought Forms are thought forms with such a highly charged energy that they take on a type of consciousness. They can interact like a ghost giving you different messages, and indicators that they are there. However, they have never been alive, nor have they ever died. They are nothing more than extremely concentrated thought form energy that has taken on a life of its own.

You can address them in the same way you would address a ghost!

Astral Thought Forms are usually the result of an overactive imagination, a person who experiences mental/emotional imbalances, children and young adults, and lower level experiences (drug abuse, violence, etc.).

Have you had any experiences with any unknown force such as a Ghost, Spirit, or Haunting?

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Florida Water

Florida Water is a traditional tool for spiritual cleansing, blessing and protection. It began as common toilette water in the 19th century, and grew in popularity by spiritual workers of all verities. The mixture is a combination of water, alcohol and essential oils. It has a strong citrus scent, with floral undertones and a slight earthy smell.

The fragrant botanicals are the source of the water’s power. They attract good fortune, and benevolent spirits to whomever, or wherever the water is used. Florida Water essentially raises the vibration of whatever it comes into contact with making it unsuitable for negativity and harm to thrive, and linger.

Florida Water can be used as a base for any energetic and magical application. It can be used for baths, floor washes, and for anointing. It is a powerful tool for spiritually cleansing your home after a difficult time, or when dealing with extremely negative entities. It can also be used to clear, and reprogram crystals, gems and jewelry.

Some practitioners even use Florida Water as a type of offering to their ancestors, spirits and other forms of Divinity. It is a wonderful tool for blessing a shrine, altar or sacred space. You can mist a room with it before a Reiki session, or an intuitive reading.

If you are an energy worker, or if you do any type of meditation/trace/hypnotism work this is a good protective measure to begin with. Apply Florida Water to the wrist, temples, base of the head and the feet. Or anoint the 7 major chakras/energy centers of the body.

Keeping bowls of Florida Water in your home will help to ward of negativity and keep a high vibration within the space. You can wash any new items you bring into the home, especially thrifted pieces. Florida Water will keep any attachments from linger with the pieces.

I’ve even found it to be beneficial for combating nightmares, or sleeplessness. Keep a small cup or bowl of Florida Water by the bedside. Or even better, under the bed. This will filter out negativity.

When you are feeling especially “off” or as if something is attached to you, rub yourself down with Florida Water. Wash your clothes, and bed linens in it. And spritz it around all rooms. This will untie energetic cords, and keep icky thoughts away.

The uses for Florida Water are endless. You can make it as simple or complex as you like. But whenever you are in need of a good jolt of energy… add a little of this to the mix!

Murry and Lanman’s Florida Water is the most common. You can find it easily online, and in many corner stores. Hispanic markets often carry it, as well as a few Chinese markets. This kind is relatively cheap. Though there are many handmade options out there as well.

Handmade Florida Water is one of the products I plan to offer in the near future!!

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Cleansing Floor Powder

Spiritually cleansing your home is a practical way to create positive change in your life. As you clear away unnecessary stray energy from your home, you release unintentional debris from your life. Because your home is a reflection of your inner world, and is directly connected to your spirit… it’s best to keep it fresh and vibrant.

Spiritual cleansing floor powders are much like store bought floor powders that you sprinkle on carpets, and then sweep up. You can make your own natural floor powders with an added magical kick! This is a simple technique that you can uses for your daily cleaning. It’s easy and adds an extra layer of freshness!

You will need to gather together two basic ingredients: Baking Soda, and Crushed Sea Salt. This will be the base of our powder. Both work wonders for clearing away negative and stagnant energy. We will add some botanicals to the base.

The following botanicals are wonderful for clearing away negative energy, and warding off unwanted vibrations:

Basil: Attracts positive energy, and benevolent spiritual influences. Freshens the Aura, and gives it a magnetic quality. Will clear away lower vibrating energies and entities.

Hyssop: One of the Holy plants for spiritual cleansing. It strips away negative energy and replaces it with good vibrations. It will bring environments into equilibrium, especially after highly charged emotional conflicts.

Mint: Infuses the aura with a subtle, happy vibration. Creates an atmosphere of peace, love and understanding. Wonderful to freshen the air, and release mental clutter. Not as aggressive as some botanicals.

Parsley: This is an herb of prosperity and abundance. This will wash away hardship and stagnation with money and business. Very good herb to use if you are feeling uninspired in your space and ready for a change. Works well when combined with other botanicals, or to “freshen” things up between major cleansings.

Rose: Ooh my favorite botanical to use for spiritual cleansing. It is light, gentle, and very very effective. It keeps the energy field strong, and vibrating at a high frequency. This keeps negative at bay because it essentially cannot be in the space.

Rosemary: Works wonders because of its astringent qualities. Great for clearing a space after major work has been done, or a crowed has left. This is another herb that works well to keep things fresh in between major cleansings. It can be combined with Mint, and Sage with good results. Also, this is a nice cleansing agent when preparing a space for spiritual contact.

Rue: Another one of the Holy botanicals. This is, along with Hyssop, one of the most powerful cleansing botanicals. Used to clear away negativity lingering from spiritual work, unwanted visitors and entities, and any other strange vibrations that you cannot shake. Works well to help bring things back into harmony. Sometimes this will clear away things you didn’t expect to lose!!

Sage: One of the most common, and effective spiritual cleansing botanicals. Regarded as sacred among Native Americans, and other shamanic cultures. It is a beautiful herb that enlightens the mind and spirit, and brings things into unison. It is has a way of moving things along without a fight!

Vervain: A wonderful herb that enhances the affects of other herbs. It also clears away psychic attacks and things pertaining to dreams.

Now, Gather together your base ingredients of Crushed Sea Salt, and Baking Soda. Then choose one or more of the botanicals listed above. All will be helpful; one may jump out at you. Trust your intuition.

In a large bowl mix together 1 cup of crushed sea salt, and 1 cup of Baking Soda. Add 1/2 – 1 cup of your chosen botanical to the mixture. If you decide to use more than one botanical do a ½ of each. Stir the mixture together well using a wooden spoon. Be sure to stir the mixture in a clockwise motion. I like to do this 7, 9, or 13 times.

I like to say a prayer over the mixture, or visualize the herbs and botanicals working together and forming a glowing light over the mixture. Use your creative visualization infuse divine light into the powder. Any power, or words of affirmation are suitable.

If you are unable to find powdered botanicals, you can also use essential oils. Either will be suitable. You can even use both! Essential oils will add a lot of fragrance to the mixture!

When you are finished carry the mixture from room to room, and sprinkle a handful around the floor. Especially let it settle in any messy areas where dust and dirt have collected (those are fertile breeding ground for negative energy!).

You can let the mixture sit on the carpet for 10-15 minutes. Then go through each room, sweeping, or vacuuming up the powder. As you clear it away, visualize all the negative and stagnant energy that has collected in your space being dissolved and swept away. Again, you can say a prayer, or affirmation of blessing.

Discard the dirt and powder in the trash, and remove the bag from your home immediately.

If you want to smudge with sage afterward you can. This will enhance the powders benefits. You can also light blessed candles to keep the energy flowing and fresh.

You should feel so fresh and so clean!!

Please, experiment with different herbs and botanicals. You may find one that really stands out to you over the others. Do this as often as you like. Once a week would be ideal.

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Smoky Quartz

Smoky QuartzStones and crystals are regarded as seeds of power. Carry them on your person, or keep them in your home to add their unique vibration to the aura of whatever they interact with. They carry specific spiritual/energetic vibrations that can be used by anyone for a number of reasons.

Smoky Quartz is one of my favorite stones for spiritual protection. Smoky Quartz is translucent rock crystal that comes in varying shades of deep, tinted browns, and blacks. Just like other types of Quartz, it is found in points, clusters and tumbled.

Its presence is very grounding and often makes you feel calm, centered and focused. Because it’s energy is smooth, warm and enveloping it is easy for most people to befriend, and make a deep connection. I consider it an essential crystal to have in your tool kit!

For centuries it has been regarded as a crystal of protection. It wards off negativity and harm, and adds a durable shield around a person’s aura. By keeping a piece of Smoky Quartz in your pocket, in a pouch, or pendent you will fortify your energy field and keep icky things at bay. This is ideal for extremely crowded settings, such as social events, work offices, or any other populated location.

Holding a crystal in your hand will allow you to neutralize any crazy chaotic energies that are floating around in your system, and help you to find equilibrium. It seems to work wonders for anxiety, and stomach issues. You can use Smoky Quartz for the sacral chakra, which is our energetic processing center, or where “gut feelings” occur!

Keeping a piece of Smoky Quartz in your home will act as a protective ward. This will keep stray energy, astral sludge, and other unwanted spiritual visitors from hanging around your home. I like to keep a Smoky Quartz point in each room, or around the perimeter of the home. This will make a protective force field that surrounds your home, and property.

If you are like me, then you LOVE a good soak in the tub. Spiritual cleansing baths are a practical way to keep your aura strong and healthy. Add a handful of sea salt, and a Smoky Quartz point to your bath water and soak for 15 minutes. This will draw stray energy from your aura, and boost your protective barrier.

Smoky Quartz is also a very helpful stone in dealing with rough situations, challenges and loss. Working with this stone will ease the pain of grief and loss, and it will begin to transform negativity, pain and shadows into a positive, radiant, and vital vibration!

You may want to keep a piece of Smoky Quartz around if you’ve recently lost a loved one, doing shadow or, or dealing with spirit contact and communication. This will allows you to process energies easily without fear of harm, or attracting unwanted energies.

How Important is it to Make Time for Stillness?

Tapping into your intuition and following your psychic nudges begins with stillness! As we are creating sacred space in our lives it becomes more and more important to stop and listen… listen to the voice inside of your, the dialogue running through your head, and the worn-out thoughts, beliefs and ideas you are replaying.

Do you ever feel completely overwhelmed, even frustrated by the amount of things running through your head. I know I experience this feeling of exhaustion from time to time… sometimes its brought on with good intentions. I am sitting there just channeling some sort of creative idea or inspiration and then I keel over in defeat because the amount of energy it takes to think about it all is so overwhelming… and then I remember… stillness!

You will never really hear all the beautiful things your spirit is trying to tell you until you stop and listen!

So many of us want answers about our lives. We are wondering what’s next. Where we are going. How life is going to be. How we are going to solve our problems. Fix our mistakes. Right our wrongs. Or achieve our dreams.

You know you’ve been asking the Universe these big questions. Talk, talk, talk… now listen!

The Universe can never solve your problems if you don’t shut up and listen!

Sometimes the answers are subtle; sometimes they are loud and clear. Sometimes they will be spelled out for you. You may get hit with a sudden feeling of inspiration. You may hear a song, or a phrase that just hits the spot.

These things come when you make space for them.

A few ways you can do this:

  1. Spend a few minutes daily in meditation. This can be done before you begin your day, or just when you end it.
  1. Prayer is often us asking for guidance, but the heart of prayer… the real secret is to stop and listen. When feelings do you get. What vibration is firing through you as you are communicating with the Divine?
  1. It’s all about staying in motion. Feel yourself move, feel your body. Get out of your head and. Let your mind, body and spirit connect through exercise, yoga or even a long walk. I love doing yoga because I have to be present when I am in a pose. I have to listen to my body and my breath. Usually the places where I hold tension in my body give me insight into where I am being rigid in my life.
  1. Enjoy a warm cup of tea. Let yourself smell all the lovely aromas, and feel the steam open up your head. Take a sip and swirl the liquid around your tongue. Actually taste the tea (or whatever you’re drinking). This will allow you to be present, to observe whatever is happening in that moment. And it’s so soothing!
  1. Take a nice long bath and let the tension of your day melt from your body. Don’t rush or worry. You are in this moment relaxing. Let the steam and the bubbles and all the delicious scents clear your head and heart. Sing and smile and close your eyes. Some of the best revelations come in a warm bath.
  1. Spend more times with your pets. These spirit babies are gifts from the Universe sent here to add unconditional love and understanding to your life. They help to transmute negative energy and turn into in to positive and productive energy. When you connect with the pure feelings of love you link into your intuitive self.
  1. Take time to listen to good, uplifting music. Let the word and sounds enter you. Sing along or just close your eyes and drift away. Music isn’t meant to be background noise. It’s meant to be a doorway to another world where you can feel and experience something inside of your, or something more expansive than you. Open up and let go for a while.

As you move through the levels of stillness you are creating internal sacred space. Giving yourself this space allows you to tap into all of your wisdom. This is really the heart of spirituality. Finding center and learning to live from that place is the most pure intention.

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleaning and Protection: When Should You Spiritually Cleanse Your Home?

Spiritual hygiene feeds into the energetic story you are telling. If you practice good spiritual hygiene, you will add positive energy and abundance to your life. Paths will begin to open, and opportunities will fall in your life.

But spiritual cleansing is for more than just your body… it is for your home as well! Creating a high vibration in the home will add to your overall experience. Your home is a reflection of you. If you take care if it, then it will take care of you!

When should you spiritually cleanse your home?

1. When you first move in.

Whenever you first move into a space you should spiritually cleanse it. You should bless the space and remove any negative or stagnant energy that may be lingering in the space. Previous residents will leave their unique vibration on the space, and that vibration may not feed into the experience you are trying to have. Shifting this energy, and clearing the slate will empower you and the life you are beginning to lead in the new space.

2. When there is a fight or altercation.

It is especially important to clear the air after an intense fight or argument. Altercations in the home taint the atmosphere and leave an imprint on the delicate energy field that surrounds your home. If this is left unattended it can grow into a powerful force that influences your mood, and the interactions you have in the space. Do you have a room, or space in your home that always seems to instigate a fight? It’s time to clear the air!

3. When Tragedy has struck.

If there has been a tragedy in the home you should absolutely perform a cleansing. This will help to move the healing process along faster. A tragedy could be anything from a loss of a loved one, to a financial set back. Adding this positive vibration to the mix will ensure that you make it through trying times with grace.

4. When changes are being made.

Any time you are making change in the home such as construction, or moving things around, or downsizing you should perform some small act of cleansing. This will help things settle and patch up any psychic holes that may ensue from moving things around. Energy is like dust. If things are ruffled up… forgotten energies may show up!

5. When someone moves in or moves out.

Always, always, always do a cleansing when someone moves in or out of the space. This will help their energetic thumbprint align with, or disconnect from the space. Remember, your home is a living energetic being just like you. Everything in the space, or that comes in contact with the space weaves into the energetic structure. Sometimes adding or taking something away will shake things up and cause a feeling of chaos. This usually settles in time, but with a little spiritual cleansing, things will equalize much faster.

6. After illness has been in the household.

Illness vibrates at a low level. When illness falls upon your home it will weaken the vibration and pull things downward. To counteract this you should lift the spirits of the space. This often helps the healing process along faster. This can be a major illness, or a minor cold!

7. When someone dies.

Again, when someone leaves/dies you want to disconnect their energy from the energetic vibration of the space. Don’t fear that you are forgetting about them, or keeping their spirit from visiting… this process helps to bring healing to the space and the people the live in it. When we are grieving there is a need to look forward. If you keep yourself in old worn-out energy patterns you begin limiting yourself, and giving away abundant energy that could be invested in more important dreams and goals.

8. After the winter.

Winter is time of rest and recuperation. Though it can turn into stagnation. The energy in your home will begin to get stuffy and cluttered though the winter. Doing a major “energetic” spring-cleaning will propel things forward into full bloom! Where do you think spring-cleaning came from! Out with the old and in with the new!

Stay tuned for more tips on spiritual cleanings in the home! We will learn more about creating beautiful sacred space!

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Spiritual Cleansing After a Bad Break-up Part Two

Once you’ve worked through the mental and emotional portion of your break-up you can begin taking care of yourself again. Creating a spiritual cleansing routine will be a powerful way to shift your energy, and will procure the longevity of your positive hard work!

Try some of the tips on this list. Use all of them, or the ones that speak to you!

  1. Restore your energetic state with a healing session. After you’ve experienced any kind of trauma, or when dealing with heavy emotions you should work with an energy worker to cleanse, clear and restore your energy. Our natural state of being is happy and healthy! This can be done through Reiki, or some other modality of energy work. Reiki is a powerful tool because it shifts and mends energy on all levels to achieve a balanced state. Everyone could use an energy session, so now is the time to treat yourself! Read more about Reiki Healing.
  2. Take a spiritual cleansing bath. A spiritual cleansing bath releases debris from your aura and helps the emotional healing process happen faster. If you’ve just gone through a break-up you should do this everyday for a week (7 days). This will initially help ease and mend the loss, coupled with your positive mental/emotional work things will shine brighter much faster! After a week you can do it every other day or once every few days. Apple cider vinegar is really good for break-up baths. Read about Spiritual Cleansing Baths and Spiritual Cleansing Showers.
  3. Use rose water, or rose tea. Rose is a wonderful flower because its essence vibrates with love and healing. When used as a tea it will work from the inside out helping to repair your aura and attract positive influence. If used as a spray, rose water will help lift the atmosphere and the aura. This will attract lots of good people and energy into your life. Learn about Rose Water and Rose Tea (my two favorite things EVER).
  4. Create an empowerment plan. Do something affirmative and transformative for yourself. Begin taking a yoga class once a week, or do a quick yoga route every morning. Make a list of affirmations to help shift your way of thinking to a more positive and proactive state. Meditative because when you take time for stillness the voices in your head that are all jumbled begin to disentangle and you find clarity! Any act that makes you feel uplifted, and helps you move toward your goals will help you change your energy for the better. You start to raise your vibration, eliminating unnecessary clutter and getting more of what you want!

The Gypsy’s Tricks for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection: Protection Tea

In my personal practice I use tea for it’s therapeutic, medicinal and energetic properties. Herbs come from the earth and have a unique energy pattern that can be incorporated into our own to create dramatic shifts.

Recently I discussed how to use teas to repair the aura. Tea can also be used for energetic protection. Just like visualizing white light around you, these teas will activate an energetic barrier that strengthen and sustains your aura.

Ginger Tea

Ginger is a potent root that has a good kick of flavor. It’s used medicinally to help digestion and to jumpstart your immune system. Ginger makes a great base for most protection teas. Start with a good piece of fresh ginger root that you can grind into a teapot with some hot water.

When using ginger it’s good to start with a little and keep adding to it. Some people find it too strong in large doses. Use it sparingly.

Alone, ginger has a very grounding affect. It pulls the aura in tightly so that nothing is hanging out! And adds a good dense layer of energy around the outside boundaries.

For one pot of tea add 2-3 teaspoons of ground ginger root, to 3 cups of spring water.

Ginger and Sage Tea

Sage is another herb that has become a staple in spiritual cleansing and protection. Sage is best known for its ability to expel negative energy. When used as a tea, sage releases negative energy and fortifies the fibers of the aura.

When sage and ginger are combined it grounds and centers, which helps to keep a clear energy field and adds a boundary of very solid protection.

For one pot of tea add 2-3 teaspoons of ground ginger root, one cup of sage leaves, to 3 cups of spring water.

Ginger and Cinnamon Tea

Cinnamon is a fiery bark that carries a punch of energy. This tends to be a little more aggressive than the more grounded energy of ginger, but the two compliment each other well.

When used a tea, cinnamon will add heat to the Aura and create a shield of “Don’t Touch Me” energy! Add ginger to that mix and you have a double layer of protection. One that blazes bright and one that is very solid.

For one pot of tea add 2-3 teaspoons of ground ginger root, 3 cinnamon sticks, to 3 cups of spring water.

For Any Tea

Let the tea steep for 5-10 minutes before drinking. As the tea steeps pray for divine light to bless the water. You can call on any form of Divinity you feel connected to.

A NOTE ON TEA

Experiment with the above combinations. Each herb could be used alone, or all together. These are just suggestions. Make sure to do your research before ingesting any herbal tea to see if you are allergic or if you have any health issues that may be affected by these.

I hope these techniques offer something for your spiritual practice!

Please, let me know if you have any other questions.
