Fortunate Leaves: Fifth Study

securedownloadMy dear friend Karine from Touched By An Angel Massage Therapy wants to know what she needs to do to move her business forward successfully. So while enjoying a warm cup of tea I focused on Karine, and asked the Universe to give her some insight about what step to take next.

TEA LEAF READING TIP: A tea leaf reading that ask a specific question only addresses the area of time that helps to best answer the question. So in this case the question is dealing with the present and future, so the past will not be address in the cup!

The most prominent image in Karine’s cup is a fairy woman sitting with her wings spreads, holding her knees. A very powerful and significant image. Karine, this is you. You are contemplating the next move, wondering which path to take. This as a sign that a vision you’ve had, or a dream, is a key facet to what you should do next. This fairy is telling you to meditate, which will bring clarity.

The next symbol is a butterfly. Butterflies are beautiful symbols of freedom and transformation. You are now in a process of metamorphosis and the changes you are undergoing now will absolutely lead you in the right direction. The butterfly is telling you to reinvent your image. Close your eyes and ask yourself, “What do I look like now?” You want to show your spirit to the world, not just a 2 dimensional view… show yourself from all sides in vibrant color.

Are you working on a new logo? The butterfly hints at visual representation. So look at logos, letterheads, business cards, web layouts and posters. Again, show how you look now!

The next symbol that appears is a boat. The boat is about staying afloat, and continuing on. Don’t waver on any area of your business, stay true to the dream. Even in the dream evolves; keep the spirit of the original dream alive! The boat also speaks about location. You may find yourself working in a space that is near water, or has a strong connection to water. Is this something that’s already taken place?

The last symbol is the dove. The dove is about love, and faith. Keep your thoughts positive and continue to manifest the life you want. Don’t be afraid to write down your goals and dreams, and to hold yourself to them. Use your vision board practice as a foundation for creating these business shifts you are seeking.

The dove also seems like a literal sign. The dove may appear to you in some form as a “Yes” or “Go Ahead” from the Universe. Keep your eyes open for this as you move forward.

I hope this offers some insight and clarity to your situation. You are on the right path. The energy feels good. I also see a strong male energy that will be significant in the next few months with your changes. Keep on, keep’in on!

Do you have anything to add, readers? Let’s hear what you have to say. Do you see something different in the cup? Or do you have some insight to add based on the symbols I saw?

Don’t be afraid to participate in the learning process! Share your insight. Ask your questions. You can even perform your own tea leaf reading and post a picture of your cup to the FaceBook page, here. We will see what we can see!!

Fortunate Leaves: Tea Leaf Reading Basics

Tealeaf reading is a magical and ancient art. Tapping into the deep, rich world of the psyche giving insight, guidance and creative prompts. Tealeaf reading has its roots in Asia and the Middle East and has been practiced by everyone from Royalty to housewives. It was even considered an insightful pass-time by the Victorian ladies during afternoon tea.

Loose tea leaves form symbols in the bottom of your teacup to tell a story. While enjoying a cup of tea you infuse it with your essence, creating a catalyst that allows the leaves to paint pictures. Once you learn the language of intuition you can string together symbols to comprehend spiritual messages and insights.

Imagination is the pathway to intuition and if you are willing to trust in your creativity you can easily gain insight through tealeaf reading. Once your imagination and intuition intertwine you begin connecting with the Universe.

To Begin: Preparing the cup and drinking the tea

Begin with a bowl shaped teacup, free of interior decoration. The handle and saucer are a must. Always use loose-leaf tea (English breakfast). Enjoy your cup of tea leaving a teaspoon of liquid in the finished cup! Then the cup is swirled, flipped and left to rest.

Exploring the Interior: seeing symbols and the map

The cup is flipped over to explore the interior. The cup is divided into 3 distinct sections, like a map. The bottom=past, the middle=present, and the top to the rim=future. The handle always represents the person being read. Make note of the most prominent symbols

Story telling: What do you see? What stands out?

Largest symbols are the most important. Begin naming what you see. First impression=correct impression. Don’t filter, just make up a story and begin interpreting. Is the cup littered with symbols? Does it have one prominent symbol? Does it have well-developed symbols in each area?

Fortunate Leaves: Fourth Study

securedownload-1Bundled-up at my desk this evening I enjoyed a delicious cup of Earl Gray tea from a local vendor. My cup was in honor of Reena who wanted to know if she would be a successful Tarot card reader.

I cleared my mind and began to breathe the scent of Earl Gray deeply. It tantalized my senses. I intently repeated Reena’s question, asking the Universe to give guidance on her path as a Tarot reader.

Peeping into her cup to gain glimpses of insight, I was met by some wildly fascinating characters. Starting from the bottom my vision spiraled around looking over what appeared in black inky blobs against the contrasting white. One symbol led to the next, creating strands of meanings.

securedownloadIn the very bottom appeared a small key, next to a roosting hen. Though I often suggest looking at the most prominent symbols that form in the cup because they are the most important, the smaller ones added to the overall story of Reen’s question.

The key next to the roosting hen is an indicator to me that her skill as a Tarot reader has been with her for a while. She was introduced to the cards, or at least to the psychic world sometime ago, possibly when she was younger. I get the impression that she may have even inherited some psychic abilities from her mother.

Moving to the next symbols in the progression was a Chinese lucky dragon. He was in the bottom (past) of the cup, with a tail that trailed into the middle (present). Lucky dragons are signs of protection, power and success. I believe that Reena took a break from Tarot for a bit of time. Maybe this was by choice. But the dragon indicates that she is being guided to do readings, and by listening her intuition she will find success.

The lucky dragon is also the sign of spiritual guidance. Reena, have you felt drawn to take specific steps toward your Tarot practice? This is a go ahead from your guides to do what feels right. This is also an indicator that her ancestors are communicating with her in spirit.

Next we have the crayfish/lobster. He was tenaciously crawling from the past into the present further highlighting his message as a symbol of emergence. The lobster is a sure sign that there is a sense of awakening happening now. More psychic experiences are the result of meditation and contemplation.

The lobster is urging you, Reena, to stay spiritually protected. I sense a little fear about doing readings. Are you worried that by reading Tarot you will open up to something bigger, or dangerous? Keep putting up your white light. And, wear blue or burn blue candles while doing readings.

Lastly, we find a gong in the future portion of the cup. Next to the Gong appears a diamond (a symbols of success). The gong is a beautiful symbol because it represents success and power. But it also shows a strong connection to sound. I believe that Reena’s Tarot reading will benefit from her learning to trust her clairaudience (psychic hearing).

Many used the gong, as a way of spiritually cleansing people believed that the sound could expel demons. It was also believed the gong could help you communicate with ghost. I see this as a sign to spiritually cleanse yourself, and also to listen to your spirit guides and ancestors. You are clearly clairaudient, Reena! Especially seeing the gong plus the lucky dragon!

Reena, I think your cup definitely indicates the potential for you to be successful as a Tarot card reader. It also offers suggestions for how to gain the success you want! I think this year has a lot of exciting things in store for your practice :-)

I would love to hear everyone’s feedback! What do you see in her cup? What message do you perceive?

Fortunate Leaves: Second Study

1. Cup of Tea, 2. Rider and Heart, 3. Baby Dragon, 4. Man on Cliff

1. Cup of Tea, 2. Rider and Heart, 3. Baby Dragon, 4. Man on Cliff

Cara Oona Annwn, you asked,” How Can I improve my business and income?” I enjoyed a wonderful cup of loose leaf green, jasmine infused, tea. The scent was delicious and the warmth was just right for this chilling evening.

Here is what I found in the bottom of your cup:

  1. An aggressive rider with a mallet or club.
  2. A baby dragon
  3. A person standing with their back to a cliff, with a fish jumping behind for attention
  4. A bound heart

The first symbol that appears prominently to me is a horseback rider, swinging a mallet or a club. I instantly get an aggressive feeling form this figure. The rider is in action, ready to play the game or battle anyone in his/her way. This is directly over the handle, moving from the past into the present. I want to suggest not feeling defensive or the need to be confrontational. This could also be suggesting that you be more tenacious and outgoing. Don’t be afraid to stand out and “play the game”.

The baby dragon is in the past; he is unfolding his wings and finding his way. Did you start or revamp your business about a year ago? To me this is a project that’s already been started, but is still just getting its bearings. This could be a suggestion not to force your business to grow to fast. You may be seeking more income/growth, but it rest in knowing that there is progress taking place.

The dragon is the keeper of treasures. She guards them, keeping them all to herself in some instances. We know that scientifically diamonds are formed in the earth under pressure. Your business will grow, but you have to stick to it, believe in it and see it through no matter what pressures are being placed on you. But don’t hold too tightly to your plan, you may just snuff its fire.

A person wearing a cape stands with her back turned to a cliff, the wind is catching her cape and it billows out behind her. An eager fish is jumping up at her ankles. Don’t let yourself be caught in the storm, the next few months are going to be a whirlwind, but don’t turn your back on anything. Don’t sit down and say, “It’s time to close up shop! I should just give it up!” There’s a lot to lose if you do. You may not realize that success is jumping up, trying to catch your attention (the fish).

A bound heart is in the present, very close to the handle. This is a sign that you are emotionally entwined in something that is affecting your business. This could be the business itself or something else that is pulling you away from success. Is there someone that you are holding on to tightly? Are you afraid of putting your all into business for fear of upsetting or losing someone?

This cup is a good indicator that success is on its way! The key to improving your business is believing in it! And, not listening to others who may urge you away from it. Opportunities are coming to you in the next few months. You will have the chance to take a leap of faith and soar into even more success… don’t be the figure on the cliff… turning your back on a good opportunity!

Also, a suggestion will come in the next month or two for learning or updating a skill. It feels more technical. Maybe this is a continued training of some kind. Take the suggestion, as a sign, the time and effort will pay off.

I also see the fist as an opportunity to buy something. Are you making in big purchases in regards to your business?

….

Please feel free to let me know if you need clarification about anything, and be sure to leave some feedback about your reading!

All the best!

Shaheen

Fortunate Leaves: First Study

(1) Cup before reading; (2) Peacock; (3) Woman; (4) Fish at bottom of cup.

Janet Boyer’s cup is the fist study for the Fortunate Leaves segment. I had a nice cup of tea in her honor, thinking of her question as I sipped. Now for this particular reading I used bagged tea as an experiment (in my opinion this is a no-no, especially for beginners because the grounds are too difficult to read).

Janet wanted insight into her fiction writing. Asking, “where should it go?” To my surprise there were some very clear symbols in her cup, despite the powdery tea!

Beginning with the handle I moved around the cup. Immediately noticing (1) A peacock; (2) A fish; and (3) A woman wearing a crown with a staff.

1. The peacock is an indicator that you are now reviving a project from the past. So something you worked on before, maybe a manuscript that you decided to put on hold has been revived. This is also telling me that you may want to allow this old project to evolve, to be transformed into a newer and fresher idea. Don’t be rigid with the progression of this particular piece.

Also, you have to let go of your fear of rejection. The peacock symbolizes a specific event that has already taken place, maybe this was a negative comment about your work, or maybe someone told you fiction wasn’t a good idea, whatever it may be… don’t let it dictate the future you have with fiction writing!

2. The fish is in the past which is an indicator that previous attempts to do fiction my have floundered. This could relate to a specific attempt, maybe a plan fell through. Something tells me this was an arrangement; maybe even a contract that was pulled out form under you or maybe you weren’t comfortable with it. But this is a sign that there is something vibrant about your fiction writing… the problem before was more of a wrong place, wrong time situation.

3. The woman wearing a crown and holding a staff. She’s nice! I like her energy. But she is in the past, moving into the present, another indicator of starting an old project again. This is you! You are the creator, the magician, the high priestess, and the reining queen. You have the power to create stories and use words to your advantage. Why are you afraid of that? This is an indicator that you are hesitant to take your power in the realm of fiction.

My intuition says that you should trust in whatever projects you are already juggling. There is no need to begin something new, but maybe revise your vision of an old project. Ask yourself, “How can I give this old project a new spin?”

As you move forward with fiction, don’t let the past hold you back. Whatever experiences have you stuck; it’s time to move on. You have the power, energy and creativity to do fiction, but if you let past experiences dictate future ones, then no doors will open.

Janet, I hope this reading finds you well and offers insight into your fiction writing. Please leave a comment. Let me know how this resonates with you and if there is anything that needs more clarity!

All the best,

Shaheen

Fortunate Leaves: Tea Leaf Reading Study Introduction

Client’s cup with a prominent skull.

I absolutely love doing Tea Leaf Reading. It’s one of my favorite forms of divination, though I will never turn my back on Tarot. But there is something about tea leaf reading that I find fascinating. The information is insightful, it has many layers, and it’s a very intuitive process. Tea leaf reading opens pathways into my inner world. It allows me to access information fast and easily.

The leaves have called to me for a while now, and I’ve begun teaching a class called, The Gypsy Tea Party, in which I teach others the basics of tea leaf reading, from my perspective. It’s been a great learning experience for everyone, me included. I find tea leaf reading engages people and encourages them to think creatively, in-turn opening their intuition.

I’ve decided it would be fun to do some tea leaf reading studies and share readings with everyone as an opportunity to expand our knowledge. This segment will be called, Fortunate Leaves. I will post a weekly reading for either myself or others who are participating. Lets see what we can learn!

Tea Leaf Reading

Tea leaf reading is an ancient and magical art that taps into the deep, rich world of the psyche giving insight, guidance and creative prompts. Tea leaf reading has its roots in Asia and the Middle East and has been practiced by everyone from Royalty to housewives, and was considered a pass-time by the victorian ladies at high noon tea. Not only is it a rewarding and extremely insightful process, it’s beautiful and entertaining.

Anyone who’s enjoyed a nice cup of tea can attest to how relaxing and peaceful it is. Imagine taking that process to another level. As you enjoy your cup of loose leaf tea, you infuse it with your essence, creating a catalyst that allows the tea to “paint” pictures and images in the bottom of your cup. From there I will string together symbols to give you insight into key points in your life (past, present, future).

Tea leaf reading is one of my favorite forms of divination because of the ambience and atmosphere it creates. All readings  come from the same intuitive place, so a tea leaf reading and a Tarot reading will yield similar results, but tea leaf readings tend to captivate people because it is a very creative, lyrical and moving experience. If you’ve never had the opportunity to have a tea leaf reading you should treat yourself to the experience!

Personal tea leaf reading sessions are available (same as other consultations), as well as tea leaf reading parties. Tea leaf reading parties are extremely fun and interesting and adds another layer to any afternoon brunch! If you are interested you can even host a class I like to call The Gypsy Tea Party… where I come and teach everyone the basics of tea leaf reading!
