Shaheen’s Tattered Nomad Oracle

Ahh!! I’ve been working on an exciting project and I’m pumped to share it with you!!  It’s a Lenormand style oracle deck called, “Shaheen’s Tattered Nomad Oracle”. The deck is composed of digitally collaged images found in the public domain. And, in true Shaheen fashion I wanted the cards to be very bohemian and vintage feeling, layered with symbolism… sort of like old postcards that your grandmother might have saved in a hat box, infused with some mystical magical energy!

So here they are! These are just a few (not the best) pictures! There are 44 cards: 36 traditional Lenormand images, with an extra man and woman card, an alternate Star card and 5 additional cards that I created and added to the deck.

If you are interested in purchasing a deck, please contact me at shaheen@shaheenmiroinsights.com. Here are the 3 sizes and introductory prices: Poker-$20, Tarot (2.75×4.75)-$30, Large (double poker size)-$40 + shipping.

    • PLN,
It’s so good to hear from you! Thank you for your kind words. Creating this deck was really a treat. I honestly found it very meditative and addicting. I’m sure I will get the bug again and do more decks. I’m glad someone else appreciates my vision 🙂

Congratulations on your deck as well… it is stunning! You have so much talent!

  1. These are just wonderful Shaheen! Are these the ones you made at Printerstudio? There is a magical fairytale-esque quality to them. I can see you’ve put in a lot of work. I really like The Familiar card.

    • Thank you so much! They were a real joy to make. And yes I made them with printerstudio and the quality is amazing! The familiar card is one of my favorites and has a little story that goes along with it 🙂

  2. Ah Shaheen, this is very attractive. I made my own Lenormand decks some years ago and enjoyed the process so much. I always encourage people to make their own.

    • Thank you, JJ. The extra cards were so exciting to create. They short of made themselves known to me. My favorite is the umbrella and the familiar. They have little stories that go along with them about why I made them… and how I think they fit into the deck. I would like to do post sharing information about each card from my perspective at some point!

And, I remember your deck very well now. When I first saw it I was so intrigued that you had created it and I thought the images were simple and beautiful. I knew nothing about Lenormand at the time… though I had a deck that I randomly bought. For some reason the Lenormand cards found me long before I realized what they were…. those thing always intrigue me!!

How do you feel about the Lenormand system?

      • Ah the Lenormand systems and tradition, and the controversy over which is the One True Way, blah, blah, blah.

We went through this with tarot for years, it is not an attitude I respect. I think people should do what they want and others stop foisting their dogma and ferocity of correctness on others.

I enjoy a daily draw with a single card or occasionally a 3-card draw. I also do card comparisons with the Lenormand and other decks–now that is fabulous. These simple symbols in the hand of a good artist really sing.

      • I totally agree. There is so much conflict with people wanting to keep it “traditional” and really giving people a hard time for straying away from what is familiar. I think you should learn to use any oracle the way that it speaks to you. I respect the tradition, and I have looked to it for a foundation… but if my intuition and my person symbology/mythology sees differently, then that will trump tradition.

I absolutely agree that these symbols come to life in the hands of an artist. there is such a simple foundation to build on!

  3. I agree with a solid foundation based on the history of the deck. Mine too was steeped in the foundation.

You know: “familiarity breeds contempt” – it’s a sadly homogenized world when people are attacked for a fresh vision.

I find a lot of joy in Lenormand cards regardless. I haven’t been reading all the drama because it ruins that joy for me. I found out that the controversy exists, saw all the moaning and posturing, and now I tune it out.

    • It so sad how some people are stuck in that mindset. I was baffled by all the negativity that came from different groups i’m in… people seemed personally offended that I didn’t stick to the tradition! I like to let readings become living breathing things… the cards will speak to me in the way they wish… not the way they are told. lol.

I like your style and approach. You always pull symbolism and information from different sources, not just within the realm of cards!

  4. Please tell me how to get more cards,,,,,!!!!
My sister and I need the large size and we are ready to purchase. Your cards are sooo fun to use besides being absolutely gorgeous. You have done a fantastic job.

    • Thank you!! So glad to hear people are enjoying the deck. I do have the large size. If you send me an email at shaheen (at) shaheenmiroinsights.com
We will get things set up 🙂
