Discover Who You Are Through Your Experiences

discover who you are from your experiences

Discover who you are in every experience you have.

Each experience allows you to see a new facet of yourself. I believe that’s why we go through a whole range of experiences. We experience everything from suffering to bliss.

If you get stuck on defining that experience, event or moment as good or bad, you lose the hidden treasure. If you remain open and curious to discover who you are, then you meet yourself fully.

Feeling allows you to discover more about yourself.

Give yourself permission to feel raw, inflamed with anger or passion, contemplation or sadness. Whatever you feel will move you forward if you allow it.Don’t minimize your trauma. Never label yourself by your painful experiences. You are not your scars. Your scars adorn the beauty that is already you.

Remember, we’re multifaceted, diamond-souls, living in an often lackluster one-dimensional world. Cascade rainbows when everything else is grey. Be the movement amongst the stillness. Be a voice wherever there is silence.

I found this quote really inspiring:

“Failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me. Had I really succeeded at anything else, I might never have found the determination to succeed in the one arena I believed I truly belonged.”J.K. Rowling
