Spiritual cleansing baths are among the most powerful and effective forms of clearing negative energy from your aura. I suggest a spiritual cleansing bath at least once a week to help things stay fresh and vibrant.
Recently, I was asked a very good question, how do you take a spiritual bath if you only have a shower?
I have a few suggestions for those of you who don’t have a shower, or don’t enjoy soaking in the bathtub.
White Light Waterfall
An easy method of spiritual cleansing in the shower is to visualize white light falling from the shower head with the water. Close your eyes as you feel the warm water soothing you, see the light begin to glow vibrant, golden white, as it washes over you it lifts the debris and heavy energy from your aura. This is an effective method that you can practice every morning when you shower!
I am a big believer in crystals! They are wonderful tools for moving, shifting, attracting, and banishing energies. I’ve written before about the psychic vacuum… this is when you use an amethyst crystal to absorb negative energy in a room or from your aura. You can adapt this method for the shower.
Find a nice sized crystal that fits comfortably in your hand. While you are showering begin to rub it across your body, or just an inch over it, as if you are washing with a bar of soap. Visualize the crystal absorbing the negative energy that has accumulated in your aura. My favorite crystals to use are: clear quartz, amethyst, and citrine.
Make sure you place the crystal in a bowl of sea salt after each use!
I love using herbs and other minerals my spiritual cleansing baths. You can adapt most of these by using a sachet. In a small muslin sachet (the kind used for tea) place a handful of herbs that are good for cleansing (or other energetic properties you want to infuse your aura with). Good choices are… sage, cedar, rosemary, lavender, or hyssop (Make sure that you aren’t allergic!). You can also fill the sachet with white rice, sea salt, garlic, or crystals.
To use the sachet rub it over your body, again, like a bar of soap while you shower. Let the warm water infuse the herbs within to release their properties. Most sachets can be used a few times. Re-place as needed. You can use tea bags in much the same way if you have an appropriate herbal mixture.
Here are a few other methods you can use.
If you don’t have time for a cleansing bath, and aren’t interested in a shower, then you can also fill the sink with warm water and a few drops of essential oil (Lavender, Tea Tree, Sage, Citrus) or vinegar. Use the water to wash your face, hands, and feet. Use a fresh washcloth and towel to dry off.
Make a sachet over some of the above ingredients. Place the sachet in a large mixing bowl. Pour boiling water over the sachet, as if you were making a nice cup of tea. With a towel or scarf cover your head and the bowl to allow the steam to wash over your face (just like a traditional steam facial).
Fill a spray bottle with fresh spring water and a fresh drops of essential oil (any of the ones mentioned above). Or make a pungent herbal tea to fill the spray bottle. After you’ve showered, spray your body down with the mixture. This will freshen the aura!
I hope these techniques offer something for your spiritual practice! Please, let me know if you have any other questions.
