Do you want to feel empowered, inspired, authentic and whole?
I know I do! Many of us are looking for more ways to find true north, to find true place and purpose in the world. But more importantly many of us are looking for ways to actually feel in the flow of living.
I have a few power thoughts for you to contemplate. A few little seeds of truth that can help you activate your innate goodness. When you begin to use these action steps you will fall into the flow, live on purpose, and make daily steps to living intently.
I’ve said it before, and I will say it again… we are all telling an energetic story! Our energetic story is our views of the world, and how we play in it. The idea of being authentic seems to come up a lot in the “new age”, self-help and metaphysical world… for some of us it may sound like fluff! But what we are actually talking about is being conscious and aware of what our intentions are!
Okay so here we go!
- Are you focused on your health and wellbeing?
Your body is always talking to you! Isn’t that a fun idea? Whatever you are dealing with physically is the accumulated history of your energetic story, your perspective of the world. When you live life completely cut off from your inner voice, your intuition, you being to give up ownership of your body.
Have you been dealing with any physical issues?
Any illness, pain or discomfort?
Your disease is a message waiting to be heard. So listen. Just stop for a moment and listen.
Ask yourself: If my disease is a metaphor what does it represent?
Feed yourself good foods. Exercise. Get plenty of sleep. Drink water. Do not feel guilty when you fall off track. Believe me I love potato chips and cookies. When we look at food like the enemy then our intention becomes: Whatever I eat is going to deplete me. Bless your cookie, baby!
- How are you taking action?
Inaction is passive living. When you live passively you are telling the Universe, and all the other things you are linked into… do what you want with me because I’m not in control. Be clear about what you are doing, and what you are not doing.
If it’s not yes, then it’s no! Wow. Now you can take action. Stop struggling with maybe. Stop struggling with indecisiveness. When you are indecisive you are leaking out your power everywhere.
Ask yourself: Why am I afraid to take action? What do I have to lose? How can I take ownership of my life now?
Guilt is not welcomed here. Don’t do it for a second. So what… you haven’t been taking the reins for a while. Now you can. The present moment is your place of power. Look at your past inaction is a gathering period. You were in fear of something before, but remind yourself: Fear usually tells us we are getting closer to something good.
- Do you choose positive thoughts?
Negative self-talk is a pandemic. Thinking negatively seems to be in vogue, everyone just accepts it as the way it is. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Really! You do not have to tell yourself negative things. In fact you’ve probably been telling yourself negative things without even knowing it.
So what happens if you change your inner dialogue to something positive?
Have you ever tried it?
What does it feel like when you say something negative to yourself?
How does it feel in your body?
What happens to your mood?
What happens to your energy?
What happens to your digestive system?
Now say something positive.
How does that feel? What changed?
You don’t have to believe it right away. Talk nicely to yourself. Think of your mind, your spirit, and your empowered self, like a little, feisty black cat. You have to lure it in, talk sweetly to it, and give it a treat and a good rubdown. If you yell it at, it’s going to scratch you and run away.
I find my negative self-talk comes in and goes out in a flash. I usually catch my negative thoughts right at the end. And then I think… Wow, Shaheen you really are doing a number on yourself now. But I turn it back around when I can. For every negative thing I say, I replace it with two positive things. It feels so good.
- Are you organized?
Your home is an out picturing of your inner world. Your stuff represents your thoughts, and where you are placing your mental energy.
What are you surrounding yourself with?
How many piles of things are you leaving unattended?
What responsibilities are falling by the wayside?
Clutter, and stuff are distractions. They are pockets of unintentional energy. We want to be on purpose, we want to align with an intention. Look at your piles of stuff and rather than be brought down by them, view them as found currency. Work through it, release it and free it up for a better energetic investment.
Everything you own has a piece of your energy in it. Chew on that for a bit. Then spit it out.
- Do you honor the imperfect?
Perfect is never really perfected, plain and simple. Wabi-sabi is the Japanese view of honoring the imperfect. When things are imperfect they have character. They feel personal and filled with life.
Bless the imperfect. Find beauty in the things that just seem to be a little off. Look at the bark of a tree. It is not perfect. It has knots, bumps and discolorations. But it feels on purpose. It is intentional. It is guided by the deeper pulse of the Universe. Imperfect is art in action.
What are you trying to make perfect?
How is perfection holding you back?
Usually ideas of perfection are really fear in disguise. The fear to move forward. The fear to fail. The fear to be right. The fear to actually do something!
- Are you forming your own opinions?
Opinions are swirling through the air like dust particles. Opinions aren’t necessarily bad, they’re is just an overabundance of them. Really we use opinions as a way to make things relative so that we can comprehend them. You can have your own opinion.
Our heads are filled with the voices of so many other people. what’s even more insane is how we try to listen to all of those other voices, ignoring our own. Your voice, your idea, your place in world is valid.
What do I really think?
What do I really feel?
How does this go against the grain of the other thinkers in my life?
Why am I listening to them, and not myself?
When you free your spirit from the opinions of others you begin to float. Life is more vibrant. You may find yourself more colorful, and a bit eccentric. Gosh, the way we would live if we didn’t think anyone was watching.
- Do you love what you are doing?
Are you in a job, relationship, situation, or pattern of thinking that makes you unhappy?
Why are you doing it?
Maybe look at the other power thoughts above to answer that question.
Relationships and jobs are the two biggest pain points in people’s lives. We tend to bleed out our power into things that make us feel completely unhappy. But you are meant to be happy. That is your R I G H T. That is the law of the Universe.
Remember, if it isn’t a yes, then it is a no! Say no when you really mean no. Don’t say yes out of fear, or guilt, or responsibility. You do not have to justify yourself.
Just ask yourself: Does this feed my spirit? If not, move along!
Do you want help on your journey to live more intently?

Just beyond the tip of your senses in a vibrant world, swirling, and illuminated. If you shut your physical eyes, and open you mystical ones you will see the Spirit World, a place that dances with a menagerie of wonders. To some it may seem far, distant and forgotten… but really those who have passed are all around us.
Since I was a child I could see, and sense things that thrive beyond the veil. I would experience the fragments of forgotten memories, the whispers of the past, and those who’ve passed on. When we are children we are awake to these things, they are just as real as anything you can touch with you hands. And for some of us the sight never fades.
Time has gifted me with the ability understand these things. I can go deeper into the mysteries, or throw up my protection to keep unwanted things at bay. But the whispers of the Other Side are always there. Even you can sense it if you open yourself.
As someone who travels the invisible realms with my senses, with Tarot and tea leaves I see messages everywhere. The unfolding of intuition, the blooming of signs and symbols. The sacred dreamtime is always calling to our senses… from the chills up your spine, to the clouds in the sky, the riddles of your dreams, and the songs on the radio.
But have you ever wondered how to talk to the Invisible world?
Maybe you’ve called out to a passed loved one for a message. Or consulted the spirit board to see if some invisible hand could spell out a message. People are curious to what lies just beyond the veil.
The invisible world is always looking for a way to communicate with you. Whether it is your angels, your higher self, the Universe, or your deceased relatives. You just have to find your unique language for communicating, your telephone line!
Conduct a séance with Tarot. Find your favorite deck, the one that works best for you. Look for images that really speak to you. Find a safe, and private place. Set the mood by lighting a candle, and sipping a cup of warm tea.
Burn sage or incense to cleanse the air, and open the door. Ask for the light of protection to surround you, and say a prayer of protection. Call out: I am here to speak beyond the veil. I call on my Spirit Circle to communicate with me.
Take yourself into a meditative state. Breathe deeply finding the rhythm of your breath. Inhale and exhale counting and falling deeper into you’re the velvety darkness of your inner wisdom. When you feel grounded and open begin to shuffle.
Concentrate on the task at hand. If you want to speak to someone specific then politely ask them to join you in the circle. Maybe place a photograph of whomever you want to speak with on your reading table. And speak their name aloud. If you would like to speak with whoever wants to join you then just be open. Ask that only good join you in the circle.
Now lay the cards out. One by one. Maybe making little fans in front of you. Search for clues in the cards. Look at the colors, the scenes, the images and anything that stands out to you.
What catches you attention?
What seems to stand out the most?
Who appears in the cards?
Look for people in the images. Look for the court cards specifically to identify people. Pay attention to their status, their age, the color of their hair and their sex. See if you can pinpoint a scene that clarifies who they are, and what they did in life.
If you want to use a spread lay out a card for:
- The Past of the visitor.
- A clue about their life, or passing.
- What message they may have for you.
- A parting piece of wisdom.
Remember the cards are a language. Ask questions; lay out a card to get the answer. Let the words be the voice of the spirit. Explore, play and see what happens. You may find the séance unfolds all around you… beyond the cards!
Or pick a few people you wish to speak with, and assign them cards. Shuffle the deck (remembering who is who), and lay the cards out. If that those card appear you know they are there, and wish to speak. If they do not, then another person may be working to speak with you.
Sometimes picking a card to represent the person you wish to speak with will help you identify them. You can choose the card before the reading, laying it to the side, and building the cards around it.
Often times when I am reading for someone and using Tarot I will pick up on people in the persons life. When a card distinctly stands out as an individual in my clients life I will meditate on that card… going deeper into its essence to see if it is someone alive, or in spirit.

You will question your intuition. You will worry that it’s all in your head, that you’re imagining things. Stay focused, keep your breathing steady, and always remain objective. Your intuition and your imagination are sister experiences. They work hand in hand to bring you insights. Just because something is imaginative, doesn’t mean that it isn’t real. Imagination is symbolic language put into motion. Look at your impressions objectively. Read between the lines… that’s where wisdom lives.

My dear friend Karine from Touched By An Angel Massage Therapy wants to know what she needs to do to move her business forward successfully. So while enjoying a warm cup of tea I focused on Karine, and asked the Universe to give her some insight about what step to take next.
TEA LEAF READING TIP: A tea leaf reading that ask a specific question only addresses the area of time that helps to best answer the question. So in this case the question is dealing with the present and future, so the past will not be address in the cup!
The most prominent image in Karine’s cup is a fairy woman sitting with her wings spreads, holding her knees. A very powerful and significant image. Karine, this is you. You are contemplating the next move, wondering which path to take. This as a sign that a vision you’ve had, or a dream, is a key facet to what you should do next. This fairy is telling you to meditate, which will bring clarity.
The next symbol is a butterfly. Butterflies are beautiful symbols of freedom and transformation. You are now in a process of metamorphosis and the changes you are undergoing now will absolutely lead you in the right direction. The butterfly is telling you to reinvent your image. Close your eyes and ask yourself, “What do I look like now?” You want to show your spirit to the world, not just a 2 dimensional view… show yourself from all sides in vibrant color.
Are you working on a new logo? The butterfly hints at visual representation. So look at logos, letterheads, business cards, web layouts and posters. Again, show how you look now!
The next symbol that appears is a boat. The boat is about staying afloat, and continuing on. Don’t waver on any area of your business, stay true to the dream. Even in the dream evolves; keep the spirit of the original dream alive! The boat also speaks about location. You may find yourself working in a space that is near water, or has a strong connection to water. Is this something that’s already taken place?
The last symbol is the dove. The dove is about love, and faith. Keep your thoughts positive and continue to manifest the life you want. Don’t be afraid to write down your goals and dreams, and to hold yourself to them. Use your vision board practice as a foundation for creating these business shifts you are seeking.
The dove also seems like a literal sign. The dove may appear to you in some form as a “Yes” or “Go Ahead” from the Universe. Keep your eyes open for this as you move forward.
I hope this offers some insight and clarity to your situation. You are on the right path. The energy feels good. I also see a strong male energy that will be significant in the next few months with your changes. Keep on, keep’in on!
Do you have anything to add, readers? Let’s hear what you have to say. Do you see something different in the cup? Or do you have some insight to add based on the symbols I saw?
Don’t be afraid to participate in the learning process! Share your insight. Ask your questions. You can even perform your own tea leaf reading and post a picture of your cup to the FaceBook page, here. We will see what we can see!!

Using an oracle, or divinatory system is a fantastic way to tap into your intuition. Oracles give you shorthand for communicating with the Universe, it’s a built in language that you can study and learn. Divinatory tools have their faults, but they are a great jumping off point for you novice intuitiors. Find a divinatory system that feels right to you, but don’t get too caught up in the system because the most powerful messages usually happen “away from the table”!
Tealeaf reading is a magical and ancient art. Tapping into the deep, rich world of the psyche giving insight, guidance and creative prompts. Tealeaf reading has its roots in Asia and the Middle East and has been practiced by everyone from Royalty to housewives. It was even considered an insightful pass-time by the Victorian ladies during afternoon tea.
Loose tea leaves form symbols in the bottom of your teacup to tell a story. While enjoying a cup of tea you infuse it with your essence, creating a catalyst that allows the leaves to paint pictures. Once you learn the language of intuition you can string together symbols to comprehend spiritual messages and insights.
Imagination is the pathway to intuition and if you are willing to trust in your creativity you can easily gain insight through tealeaf reading. Once your imagination and intuition intertwine you begin connecting with the Universe.
To Begin: Preparing the cup and drinking the tea
Begin with a bowl shaped teacup, free of interior decoration. The handle and saucer are a must. Always use loose-leaf tea (English breakfast). Enjoy your cup of tea leaving a teaspoon of liquid in the finished cup! Then the cup is swirled, flipped and left to rest.
Exploring the Interior: seeing symbols and the map
The cup is flipped over to explore the interior. The cup is divided into 3 distinct sections, like a map. The bottom=past, the middle=present, and the top to the rim=future. The handle always represents the person being read. Make note of the most prominent symbols
Story telling: What do you see? What stands out?
Largest symbols are the most important. Begin naming what you see. First impression=correct impression. Don’t filter, just make up a story and begin interpreting. Is the cup littered with symbols? Does it have one prominent symbol? Does it have well-developed symbols in each area?

I cleared my mind and began to breathe the scent of Earl Gray deeply. It tantalized my senses. I intently repeated Reena’s question, asking the Universe to give guidance on her path as a Tarot reader.
Peeping into her cup to gain glimpses of insight, I was met by some wildly fascinating characters. Starting from the bottom my vision spiraled around looking over what appeared in black inky blobs against the contrasting white. One symbol led to the next, creating strands of meanings.
In the very bottom appeared a small key, next to a roosting hen. Though I often suggest looking at the most prominent symbols that form in the cup because they are the most important, the smaller ones added to the overall story of Reen’s question.
The key next to the roosting hen is an indicator to me that her skill as a Tarot reader has been with her for a while. She was introduced to the cards, or at least to the psychic world sometime ago, possibly when she was younger. I get the impression that she may have even inherited some psychic abilities from her mother.
Moving to the next symbols in the progression was a Chinese lucky dragon. He was in the bottom (past) of the cup, with a tail that trailed into the middle (present). Lucky dragons are signs of protection, power and success. I believe that Reena took a break from Tarot for a bit of time. Maybe this was by choice. But the dragon indicates that she is being guided to do readings, and by listening her intuition she will find success.
The lucky dragon is also the sign of spiritual guidance. Reena, have you felt drawn to take specific steps toward your Tarot practice? This is a go ahead from your guides to do what feels right. This is also an indicator that her ancestors are communicating with her in spirit.
Next we have the crayfish/lobster. He was tenaciously crawling from the past into the present further highlighting his message as a symbol of emergence. The lobster is a sure sign that there is a sense of awakening happening now. More psychic experiences are the result of meditation and contemplation.
The lobster is urging you, Reena, to stay spiritually protected. I sense a little fear about doing readings. Are you worried that by reading Tarot you will open up to something bigger, or dangerous? Keep putting up your white light. And, wear blue or burn blue candles while doing readings.
Lastly, we find a gong in the future portion of the cup. Next to the Gong appears a diamond (a symbols of success). The gong is a beautiful symbol because it represents success and power. But it also shows a strong connection to sound. I believe that Reena’s Tarot reading will benefit from her learning to trust her clairaudience (psychic hearing).
Many used the gong, as a way of spiritually cleansing people believed that the sound could expel demons. It was also believed the gong could help you communicate with ghost. I see this as a sign to spiritually cleanse yourself, and also to listen to your spirit guides and ancestors. You are clearly clairaudient, Reena! Especially seeing the gong plus the lucky dragon!
Reena, I think your cup definitely indicates the potential for you to be successful as a Tarot card reader. It also offers suggestions for how to gain the success you want! I think this year has a lot of exciting things in store for your practice 🙂
I would love to hear everyone’s feedback! What do you see in her cup? What message do you perceive?
