And the days go by like a strand in the wind… in the web that is my own… I begin again. –Stevie Nicks
My head and hands hum with energy. I can feel the raw power of my inner self building, and pushing to the surface. Sometimes I stomp, twirl and sing as loud as I can to release this passion. Self-expression is the path to spiritual empowerment.
Every moment is a chance to begin again. Opportunities slip in and out of our lives. Sometimes we will grab them by the horns and other times we are completely blind-sided. Yet, there is always another moment to be free, to be brave, to be wild.
Have you ever felt the call of your own raw passion?
Or the intense energy of your own creative expression trying to break free?
Of course you have… we all experience this. This is our true self. The self that seeks to be heard, felt and given life.
When you sit at your desk, antsy for something bigger, and bolder you are feeling your spirit. When you walk down the street with a deep longing for something exciting and new you are feeling your spirit. And when you actually fall curious to your own longing you go into a deep communion with the Universe.
Creative expression is act of prayer.
Pray out loud. Pray with your words. Pray with your voice. Pray with your body. Pray with your colors. Pray with your actions.
I want you to know that you are always being born again to the moment.
Do you dare to be transformed into something bigger, bolder and free?
Today make ONE RADICAL Gesture OF SELF-EXPESSION!
What does that mean?
Radical gestures of self-expression are those unadulterated moments of doing something for the hell of it. Doing something because you want to. Not because someone else told you to. Radical gestures of self-expression are those moments where you dance, and sing like no one is watching. Put on a show for the world just to say you did.
Go out into the WORLD, baby, and do the damn thing!
Promise me you will do one thing that feels a little dangerous, a little wild, that takes you out of your BOX.
Let that fire, energy, and life surge through you. Get a taste of your DIVINITY and see what comes next.
I want to hear about it. Leave me a comment, or send me a message.

Do you want to feel empowered, inspired, authentic and whole?
I know I do! Many of us are looking for more ways to find true north, to find true place and purpose in the world. But more importantly many of us are looking for ways to actually feel in the flow of living.
I have a few power thoughts for you to contemplate. A few little seeds of truth that can help you activate your innate goodness. When you begin to use these action steps you will fall into the flow, live on purpose, and make daily steps to living intently.
I’ve said it before, and I will say it again… we are all telling an energetic story! Our energetic story is our views of the world, and how we play in it. The idea of being authentic seems to come up a lot in the “new age”, self-help and metaphysical world… for some of us it may sound like fluff! But what we are actually talking about is being conscious and aware of what our intentions are!
Okay so here we go!
- Are you focused on your health and wellbeing?
Your body is always talking to you! Isn’t that a fun idea? Whatever you are dealing with physically is the accumulated history of your energetic story, your perspective of the world. When you live life completely cut off from your inner voice, your intuition, you being to give up ownership of your body.
Have you been dealing with any physical issues?
Any illness, pain or discomfort?
Your disease is a message waiting to be heard. So listen. Just stop for a moment and listen.
Ask yourself: If my disease is a metaphor what does it represent?
Feed yourself good foods. Exercise. Get plenty of sleep. Drink water. Do not feel guilty when you fall off track. Believe me I love potato chips and cookies. When we look at food like the enemy then our intention becomes: Whatever I eat is going to deplete me. Bless your cookie, baby!
- How are you taking action?
Inaction is passive living. When you live passively you are telling the Universe, and all the other things you are linked into… do what you want with me because I’m not in control. Be clear about what you are doing, and what you are not doing.
If it’s not yes, then it’s no! Wow. Now you can take action. Stop struggling with maybe. Stop struggling with indecisiveness. When you are indecisive you are leaking out your power everywhere.
Ask yourself: Why am I afraid to take action? What do I have to lose? How can I take ownership of my life now?
Guilt is not welcomed here. Don’t do it for a second. So what… you haven’t been taking the reins for a while. Now you can. The present moment is your place of power. Look at your past inaction is a gathering period. You were in fear of something before, but remind yourself: Fear usually tells us we are getting closer to something good.
- Do you choose positive thoughts?
Negative self-talk is a pandemic. Thinking negatively seems to be in vogue, everyone just accepts it as the way it is. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Really! You do not have to tell yourself negative things. In fact you’ve probably been telling yourself negative things without even knowing it.
So what happens if you change your inner dialogue to something positive?
Have you ever tried it?
What does it feel like when you say something negative to yourself?
How does it feel in your body?
What happens to your mood?
What happens to your energy?
What happens to your digestive system?
Now say something positive.
How does that feel? What changed?
You don’t have to believe it right away. Talk nicely to yourself. Think of your mind, your spirit, and your empowered self, like a little, feisty black cat. You have to lure it in, talk sweetly to it, and give it a treat and a good rubdown. If you yell it at, it’s going to scratch you and run away.
I find my negative self-talk comes in and goes out in a flash. I usually catch my negative thoughts right at the end. And then I think… Wow, Shaheen you really are doing a number on yourself now. But I turn it back around when I can. For every negative thing I say, I replace it with two positive things. It feels so good.
- Are you organized?
Your home is an out picturing of your inner world. Your stuff represents your thoughts, and where you are placing your mental energy.
What are you surrounding yourself with?
How many piles of things are you leaving unattended?
What responsibilities are falling by the wayside?
Clutter, and stuff are distractions. They are pockets of unintentional energy. We want to be on purpose, we want to align with an intention. Look at your piles of stuff and rather than be brought down by them, view them as found currency. Work through it, release it and free it up for a better energetic investment.
Everything you own has a piece of your energy in it. Chew on that for a bit. Then spit it out.
- Do you honor the imperfect?
Perfect is never really perfected, plain and simple. Wabi-sabi is the Japanese view of honoring the imperfect. When things are imperfect they have character. They feel personal and filled with life.
Bless the imperfect. Find beauty in the things that just seem to be a little off. Look at the bark of a tree. It is not perfect. It has knots, bumps and discolorations. But it feels on purpose. It is intentional. It is guided by the deeper pulse of the Universe. Imperfect is art in action.
What are you trying to make perfect?
How is perfection holding you back?
Usually ideas of perfection are really fear in disguise. The fear to move forward. The fear to fail. The fear to be right. The fear to actually do something!
- Are you forming your own opinions?
Opinions are swirling through the air like dust particles. Opinions aren’t necessarily bad, they’re is just an overabundance of them. Really we use opinions as a way to make things relative so that we can comprehend them. You can have your own opinion.
Our heads are filled with the voices of so many other people. what’s even more insane is how we try to listen to all of those other voices, ignoring our own. Your voice, your idea, your place in world is valid.
What do I really think?
What do I really feel?
How does this go against the grain of the other thinkers in my life?
Why am I listening to them, and not myself?
When you free your spirit from the opinions of others you begin to float. Life is more vibrant. You may find yourself more colorful, and a bit eccentric. Gosh, the way we would live if we didn’t think anyone was watching.
- Do you love what you are doing?
Are you in a job, relationship, situation, or pattern of thinking that makes you unhappy?
Why are you doing it?
Maybe look at the other power thoughts above to answer that question.
Relationships and jobs are the two biggest pain points in people’s lives. We tend to bleed out our power into things that make us feel completely unhappy. But you are meant to be happy. That is your R I G H T. That is the law of the Universe.
Remember, if it isn’t a yes, then it is a no! Say no when you really mean no. Don’t say yes out of fear, or guilt, or responsibility. You do not have to justify yourself.
Just ask yourself: Does this feed my spirit? If not, move along!
Do you want help on your journey to live more intently?

You are spirit, the accumulation of intention, dreams, and creativity. You are in a state of constant flux, revolving and circulating around one giant sphere of the Divine. Nothing is truly static. If you aren’t changing, then you are battling the Universe.
Death is beautiful. It is the ultimate poetry of life. You die to the setting sun, to be reborn at tomorrow’s light. You die to every moment. You die every year, as you grow older and wiser. You die at the ending of every project, and you are reborn at the beginning of every new one.
Life is a dance of change and transformation. The affirmation of your spirit is metamorphosis. You are a being of light that radiates, pulsates, and undulates. If you lose the essence of your spirit, then you’ve lost the point of life.
People grow stagnant. Their spirits become gnarled and weakened. If you unplug from source then you slowly fade away, until you are a shell mimicking life. We fear death because we fear what we can be. We know the reality, but we forget the dream.
Death has been very present in my life the past year. I’ve lost many beautiful lights whom I loved greatly for their bravery, wisdom and unconditional love. I grieve for the loss of their relatable presence in my life. I grieve for their smile. I grieve for their conversation. But through my grief I realize that they are at peace. They are burning stars in the never-ending disco.
Death isn’t easy. It jars you. It pulls you out of your shell. You are forced to step beyond your comfort zone. You are left dancing in the dark. Traversing beyond what you know as the truth. But there is the beauty. You’ll never grow unless you’ve experienced.
The truth is that you’ve never really seen a painting until you’ve looked at it from all angles. Stand on your head; see it in a mirror, stair from one side to the other. Life is art. Explore art don’t admire it!
When I see the Death card in the Tarot, it usually means that you are in a state of change. The tune is changing, and you’ll need to find a new groove. But the Tarot isn’t discerning. Tarot doesn’t tell you what you want to hear… It tells you what you need to hear. It doesn’t know the difference between a “metaphorical” death and a real one. It only knows that the energy is changing.
So can the Tarot show a real death? Yes! Absolutely it can. I’ve seen it many times. I’ve experienced it personally with the loss of my own loved ones. It’s doesn’t have to be frightening. It serves to enlighten you.
Tarot predicts death. Death isn’t bad. It’s not a warning. It’s a reminder that you are living.

You will question your intuition. You will worry that it’s all in your head, that you’re imagining things. Stay focused, keep your breathing steady, and always remain objective. Your intuition and your imagination are sister experiences. They work hand in hand to bring you insights. Just because something is imaginative, doesn’t mean that it isn’t real. Imagination is symbolic language put into motion. Look at your impressions objectively. Read between the lines… that’s where wisdom lives.

Using an oracle, or divinatory system is a fantastic way to tap into your intuition. Oracles give you shorthand for communicating with the Universe, it’s a built in language that you can study and learn. Divinatory tools have their faults, but they are a great jumping off point for you novice intuitiors. Find a divinatory system that feels right to you, but don’t get too caught up in the system because the most powerful messages usually happen “away from the table”!
Wrap your satin glow around me
In protection, power and grace
Give me the vision to see beyond
These walls that keep me bound
In this illusion of depletion and separation
Hush my ego self so that spirit may whisper to me
Working through my fragile shell to guide
Those who seek refuge in your light
Allow me to access with clarity
The wisdom, the healing and the knowledge
Of the all knowing, the I Am
So that our path in this earth-walk may be
A little easier, a little brighter
Let me bask in the love of the Universe
Grant me the courage and the power to see
The love and light within my spirit
Allow me to step beyond the veil
To the world where we have not forgotten our glory
Where time flows into one golden ring
And the answers I seek are found
And where the desires I have are made real
With the hand of celestial helpers guiding me
And the love of the guiding flames
Let me walk this path
In this moment, in each day
So shall it be

The rain has been falling for days as a reminder to me and to the world that it is time to wash away the hurt and the pain… its time to wash away the shell that we have built around us to make us numb to our feelings. It’s okay sometimes to be stormy and to totally lose composure. Sometimes you have to dance with the fire in order heal the burn.
I have watched so many people push their feelings and emotions away. Locking them tightly inside like Pandora and her cursed box. It’s within that they build and become insidious, finally finding a way to bubble to the surface… they peak their heads out eventually, saying, “hey remember me the nasty little creature you locked away long ago?”
Its time to face our fears, dance in the dark, pull off the mask and break it. Its time to live a little because until you learn to let loose and actually be with the wind, the rain and the water, you are only going to drawn under the pressure. Eventually something has to be done, some form of spiritual house cleaning.
I keep hearing the famous line from Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams, “When the rain washes you clean you’ll know” and I think I am beginning to understand the process of cleansing. There are still so many layers to break through, to wash away and to really come face to face with. One thing I know is now its time, time to get back to basics and time to get back to spirit.
I want to stand outside and spin until all the colors of blue, black and purple swirl into gray, until the ground and the sky rumble as one. I want to spin until I become the eye of the storm. I want to spin until there is nothing left but the rotation of change. I want to spin until I am one with the great wheel of the universe. The truth of dancing with the chaos is finally settling into my bones.
The only way to the light is through the dark. I think that having a beautiful, peaceful and spiritual life is all about learning to move and bend. Spiritually we must be like a tree in a great storm… if we are rigid and unwilling to move, then parts of use begin to crack and break and eventually our foundation will be pulled away. Movement is key in all of this. Movement is among the most important spiritual keys to follow.
I ask you to stand in the rain and rage with the thunder and be cleansed by the water and then as all the layers of fear, pain and negativity fall away declare, “This is MY life and MY truth. I will move with spirit and dance with destiny.”
Take from this rain the truth that there are signs everywhere speaking to us, asking us to pay a little closer attention. Signs come from everywhere and they may be global or personal, just look for the essence of everything and allow yourself to connect with the essence of everything rather than the shell.
So much love,
